How do you fail the genocide route in Undertale?
The Genocide Route is aborted if the protagonist either completes an area by sparing the boss or reaches certain points in the game without exhausting the kill counter.
Undertale: Failed Genocide is an Undertale Alternate Universe created by HollFeii. It takes place after an Undertale Genocide Run, except Sans manages to kill the human, and they do not reset.
You do not have to kill the first froggit. The monsters left thing won't appear until after you've gotten out of the Ruins with a successful genocide start.
Jerry yields 1 EXP, so killing him will prevent you from earning a Pacifist runthrough. He doesn't yield any exp IIRC, so he can just be ignored.

Sans warns you about getting dunked on. Now, this is just something curious that I noticed a while ago. It seems like getting dunked on after sparing Sans is a complete suprise, but he actually quite explicitly warns you that you're going to die if you SPARE him.
What happens if you only spare Sans? You will get dunked,bud. You pretty much can't spare Sans. If you use mercy when given the opportunity, You get thrown into an unavoidable death trap.
The sans fight is not considered the hardest because of his stats, but by the fact that he cheats the entire battle. He attacks first.
Your kill quota for Snowdin is 16 monsters, and they need to be killed before fighting Papyrus - most of the fights will be fairly straightforward, but if you encounter a Jerry in a battle just flee when it's only him remaining as he's a monumental pain.

It is really just extremely hard and usually comes as a shock when you first fight sans, so it is just difficult to win on the first try. however, if you are incredibly skilled and not prone to shock, you would probably be able to do it. its not an unwinable battle, just a hard one to beat.
