Try Giving this a Whirl is a quest given by Zephyr Grimspark the first time you water your crops in the Fall. It requires you to deliver 15x Iron Ingot, 15x Copper Ingot, 10x Silver Ingot to her. The reward for completion is a farming whirligig that, when powered by a gem, will automatically water your crops for you. It will also water crops in the greenhouse, once you unlock that.

Quest intro:
- Zephyr: Hiya!
- Tara: Zephyr! You scared the living daylights out of me!
- Zephyr: Oh, I’m sorry. I keep forgetting that you’re not used to teleportation! So whatcha doin’?
- Tara: I was just watering my crops.
- Zephyr: By… hand? Gearwheels ‘n grease, girl, just because you’re human doesn’t mean you have to stick with human tech! If you wanna learn a more efficient method, swing by my shop anytime. See ya!
- Tara: Wait… I… hate when you do that.
- Thomas: Who are you talking to?
- Tara: Thomas! I was just… talking to my… watering can. I do that sometimes. Why are you here?
- Thomas: I was checkin’ to see if your well’s working again now that the drought’s over. But I can see it is so…. I’ll be on my way. Washashores…
Part 1: Visit Zephyr’s Workshop to learn about an easier way of taking care of your farm.
- Zephyr: You came! Ready to make your first whirligig?
- Tara: Zephyr, you can’t just pop up in my farm like that. Now Thomas thinks I talk to my watering can.
- Zephyr: Oh, Thomas. He really needs more help around his farm. I wish I could talk to him sometime, but, well, rules are rules! Anyway, a whirligig is an enchanted machine that will take care of farm chores for you. You can build one for watering your plants, for chopping down trees or harvesting crops. They’ll save you lots of time! We’ll need some metals to build your first one. Bring them to me and I’ll get to work on it right away!
Part 2: Zephyr needs iron, copper, and silver ingots in order to build a whirligig. (15, 15, 10)
- Zephyr: Do you have the items we need to make your first whirligig?
- Tara: Yes, here they are!
- Zephyr: Great! Come back tomorrow and I’ll have it ready.
Part 3: Wait until Zephyr has constructed the whirligig.
- Tara: Is my whirligig done?
- Zephyr: Yep! Here it is!
- Tara: Um… it doesn’t do much.
- Zephyr: Not yet, I haven’t powered it yet, silly! I’ll deliver the whirligig to your home free of charge. But you’ll need a powered gem like this one to power them. [Gives 1x Powered Sapphire.] Now, this baby will do a great job but he won’t last forever. Different gems can hold different charges. If you bring me more, I can charge them so you can replace this one when it runs out. I can also make other kinds of whirligigs for different tasks.
- Tara: But won’t my neighbors notice that I have a magical device watering my crops for me?
- Zephyr: If anyone asks, just say you imported it from Europe.
- Tara: And people will believe me?
- Zephyr: Yeah, how else do you think Hazel ran the farm on her own all those years?
