It's time to dust off your best Yun Jin build in Genshin Impact and give your party a surprisingly strong support character capable of drawing out the best in your strongest warriors. In Genshin Impact 3.4, you can also invite her to join your party for free in the Fortuitous Invitation event.
Yun Jin's own attack may seem distressingly low, but she's not meant to take the field alone anyway.
She excels as a support character, providing shields and, for the right party members, a hefty attack boost.

Is Yun Jin a DPS character?
Not at all. Yun Jin can deal some decent damage, but the best way to use her is focusing on her elemental skill and burst. Her skill deals Geo damage and absorbs attacks based on her HP, and then at the end of the skill, Yun Jin deals additional Geo damage. It's handy for dealing with strong attacks and is an excellent way to generate shields by creating elemental shards, but her burst is the most important part of her kit.
Cliffbreaker's Banner deals Geo damage and grants a set amount of bonus damage for the party's normal attacks based on Yun Jin's defense, which works well for parties with characters such as Ayato and Yoimiya.
Unlike Candace, Yun Jin's buff applies to anyone's normal attack - not just characters who deal elemental damage with their normal attacks - so you can use her with Cyno, catalyst characters, Eula, or pretty much anyone with a decent set of normal attack multipliers to get some nice results.
Her talents are fairly straightforward, with the third passive talent being the most important. It increases the normal attack buff based on Yun Jin's defense at a rate that increases depending on how many characters of differing elemental types you have in your party.
So in short, make sure to focus on Yun Jin's defense in your build.
Should I pull for Yun Jin?
Yun Jin works in pretty much any party and is an effective shield generator, even if you don't use a lot of normal attacks. If you're running characters such as Ayato, Yoimiya, Cyno, or any catalyst main DPS, then you definitely want to consider adding Yun Jin to your party.
What are the Yun Jin materials?
Yun Jin uses Glaze Lily and mask-series items, the former of which is common in Liyue, while the latter is just common in general. The standout material is Riftborn Regalia, only obtainable only by defeating the Golden Wolflord on Tsurumi Island in Inazuma.
Yun Jin talent materials also include mask items, along with Diligence-series books and the Ashen Heart item you’ll get from defeating La Signora.
What is the best Yun Jin build in Genshin Impact?
While you can build the opera warrior around her Elemental Skill and Geo damage, the most reliable method to flatten foes is through her Burst, which increases Yun Jin’s - and the party's - attack based on her defense. Naturally, that means energy recharge and defense are the most important stats to focus on.
What is the best Yun Jin weapon?
Our top pick for Yun Jin’s weapon is actually not intended for her at all: Vortex Vanquisher. It boosts shield strength, which is the most important feature, but it also raises the user's attack.
Skyward Spine is a more straightforward alternative and has energy recharge as its secondary stat, but the four-star Favonius Lance and its substantial energy recharge buff is probably your best, non-Vortex Vanquisher choice.
What are the best Yun Jin Artifacts?
Husk of Opulent Dreams is a must for Yun Jin. The best returns come from boosting her defense, which leads to higher normal attack damage for the entire party.

The forgeable weapon increases Energy Recharge with its secondary stat, and the passive ability boosts normal and charged attack damage by 6-12% for six seconds every time the wielder uses an Elemental Skill. The effect stacks twice, and because you can craft the weapon, you’ll have an easier time reaching the passive skill’s higher levels.
Best Yun Jin Artifacts for F2P
This build’s Artifact sets are essentially the same as the other build’s: Husk of Opulent Dreams, to push Yun Jin's defense higher.
