Filling out your Blended Assessment
You can complete this online, it may include…
Seeing if it’s a match
We’ll get you to fill out a personality test, so we can see if your traits line up with the role, and help you thrive in the business.
The questions will all be multiple choice, and there’s no time limit, so take your time and try to give answers that are self-aware and as true as possible. Remember, there’s no right or wrong answers here. Just keep focused and answer all the questions in your own time – good luck!
Getting to see your skills
You might be asked to complete some aptitude tests, which could be numerical, verbal reasoning, analytical, or coding.
They’re here to help us see if you have the practical skills for the role. As an example, you may be asked to analyse a problem and come up with a solution. Or show us your technical skills by using some equipment or software you’ll need to use on the job.
Putting a face to the name
We’ll ask you to film a video interview to send to us.
We’ll give you some examples of day-to-day challenges and tasks in the role or programme you’re applying for, and you’ll need to record your responses on video. It's a great way for us to see your face and get to know if the way you work is a good fit with our culture and values.
It’s also a great chance for you to see if it’s the role for you, as it’ll give you a better idea of what you’ll be up to and what it’s like to work here.
Here’s what you can do to prepare.
- Take a deep breath, relax, and try to be confident in your answers.
- Choose an outfit you’d wear to an in-person interview.
- Pick where you’re filming your video interview wisely.
- Try to make sure you won’t be interrupted, whether that’s by a family member or a pet!
- Check the device you’re filming on to make sure you can see your face clearly.
- Make sure you capture a well-balanced shot of your head and upper-body.
Joining us at an assessment centre
After you’ve completed your video interview, the next stage will be joining us at an assessment centre, which will involve a group exercise, a pitch and an interview.
Group Exercise
We’ll give you and your group a typical workplace scenario, and then measure how well you work with your team, contribute, delegate, and come up with solutions. In short, it’s about seeing if you’ve got the skills that you’ll need here at Asda.
Pitch
We love hearing new ideas. So this is a chance for you to pitch an idea or solution to a problem to us, you could be asked to analyse data or do a bit of research to back up your ideas.
Interview
You’ll have a chance to sit down with us and explore your motivation, commercial awareness, and see if you’ll fit our culture here. It’s also a chance for you to ask any questions you have about the role and Asda.
