7 Ways to Make Easy Cruise Money (2)

Contents Show

We can all use extra money when it comes to going on our cruise. What if there were legit ways to make money without having to go through face to face interviews, red tape and adhering to schedules? Well there is. I did some research and found seven easy ways to make vacation money.

1. Field Agent

Field Agent is an app available for Android and iOS which gives you small jobs to complete when you’re out and about. Often, these jobs are sort of mystery shopper-esque in that they ask you to go into a store and take a photo of a certain piece of merchandise and its price. Their jobs typically pay between $3-12 and you receive your money whenever you choose to cash out, where it will be deposited into PayPal.

2. Slicethe Pie

Slice the Pie is a music, and more recently also fashion, site that pays you to review the song you’re listening to or piece of clothing you’re looking at. The site is mainly for new or up-and-coming artists that want to get their music out there as well as receive some feedback from the public. While you aren’t paid very much starting out, (just a fraction of a dollar per song) the more you review and the higher prestige you receive as a reviewer, the more they will begin to pay you. You will receive your money via PayPal, and they don’t let you cash out until you have at least $10.

While this isn’t a website for you to earn a lot of money quickly, it is nice for people that enjoy listening to music and don’t mind waiting patiently for their money to add up.

3. Swag Bucks

In my opinion,Swagbucks is probably the easiest way to earn money out of anything else in this list. It’s simple a search engine (powered by Yahoo!) where you earn “swagbucks” simply for searching. You don’t have to search for anything in particular, either, it operates just as any other search engine would. While you don’t receive swagbucks every time you search, every so often you do and can receive a wide range of amounts at any given time. Swagbucks are redeemable for a variety of things in the site’s rewards store, but in my opinion, the most useful thing is gift cards. There are a lot of stores’ gift cards that they offer, but my favorite is Amazon. It costs 500 swagbucks for a $5 Amazon gift card, but it adds up quicker than you realize.

Over time I’ve earned well over $100 in Amazon gift cards. So if you use a search engine regularly, Swagbucks isworth it.

4. Gig Walk

Gigwalk is a crowdsourcing app that, much like field agent, also feels a little bit like being a mystery shopper without buying anything. It’s available on the Google Play store and the App Store. Companies will post jobs in which you may go into a store and take photos of products, make a list of products you see, take notes on placement in stores, etc. Jobs can range from a few minutes to a few hours and pay anywhere between $3-$100 via PayPal.

5. Opinion Outpost

Opinion Outpost is a survey website that directly pays you to take surveys provided by their corporate partners. You provide them with information when you sign up that will place you in a certain demographic so that the surveys you take are directly related to companies that you may be familiar with in day to day life. They pay you via paypal or you can use your points to redeem gift certificates to major companies like Amazon.

Each survey is worth a different amount of money, and they give them to you based on your qualifications.Even your kids can sign-up for this one!

6.Wallapop

Wallapop is a system like eBay that lets you sell things around your house fromyour iPhone or Android. Think of it as a virtual flea market. You can buy and sell locally.

Price is King so set a fair, competitive price for your item. Try searching Wallapop for similar items before listing yours, to get a good idea of what your item is worth. When someone is interested, you set up a meeting point and sell your product. This beats wasting a weekend having a garage sale.

Remember to always use common sense when meeting people.

7. Thred Up

ThredUp is a retail re-commerce site where you can buy or sell used clothes in good condition. They are very selective about what brands and conditions they will accept.

They have a policy called D.O.T. which means the clothes they will accept must be Defect-free, On-Trend, and a Top-Brand name.

The site sends you a Clean Out Kit which is what you load the items you’d like to sell into, and all you have to do is send it back. The amount thatyour clothingsells for varies based on a number of criteria. ThredUp generally accepts 50% of the clothing they are sent, but if something is still in good condition, they will sell it to a 3rd party buyer.

Your payment is sent via PayPal, but you also have the options to donate the money to a charity or redeem it for store credit instead.

Final Thoughts

None of these will make you rich (unless you have a lot of clothes) but it’s a good way to start your vacation fund. If you’re looking for Creative Ways to Save for Your Cruise, be sure to check out our savings article.
