Wigfrid is a playable character. By virtue of method acting and sheer determination, she embodies a Valkyrie and all of her might, losing her real self in the process. Wigfrid shines in battle, able to withstand blows from any foe and valiantly striking her enemies, all the while restoring her Health and Sanity. This strength comes at a price however, as her Viking spirit compels her to exclusively consume meat.
Below is a more detailed explanation of her perks.
*Excels in battle[]
Wigfrid deals 25% more damage with attacks (such as with Weapons) and takes 25% less damage from any source. She also starts with, and can craft, both a Battle Spear and a Battle Helm.
*Absorbs the power of fallen foes[]
When attacking something, Wigfrid is capable of absorbing their power, represented by a winged spirit sometimes appearing when a foe is fell. With each hit she recovers a bit of her Health and Sanity. The exact amount of both Health and Sanity is calculated as follows:
(Default Weapon Damage / Target's Total Health) * (Target's Attack Damage * 0.25)
Note that this calculation only takes into account the base weapon damage, which excludes Wigfrid's damage modifier.
Furthermore, this number can't be lower than 0.33 or higher than 2. If the player would heal for less than 1, the amount is instead stored until it's higher than 1, which is then given to the player. However the amount stored slowly decays over time.
For example: If Wigfrid would be healing for the minimum of 0.33 each hit, it would take 4 hits to reach 1.32, which would then restore 1.32 Health and 1.32 Sanity.
Additionally, the following entities won't heal Wigfrid at all when attacked:Eyeplant, Meat Bulb, Pumpkin Lantern, Extra-Adorable Lavae, Smallbird (if it belongs to a player), Chester, Glommer, Hutch, Houndius Shootius, Bernie, saddled Beefalo, Beehive, Killer Beehive, Hound Mound, Spider Den and any type of Wall.
*Only eats meat[]
Wigfrid's strict diet forces her to eat only Food of the Meat or Goodies type. She will outright refuse to consume any other Food type, stating it is not food befitting a warrior.
Additional notes[]
Wigfrid has a peculiar speech pattern, adding an Umlaut to the letter o (ö) every time she uses it, unless the preceding letter is already an ö. This can be turned off in settings.
