Tax season is already a stressful time, so restaurants and businesses are trying to take the edge off by offering Tax Day freebies. Tax Day happens every April 15 (unless it falls on a weekend), and this year Tax Day is Monday, April 15, 2024.
Like in previous years, we expect plenty of Tax Day food deals that you’ll be able to pick up in celebration of completing your taxes. Plus, we’ve got even more ways you can save when you take advantage of Tax Day deals, including tax software and more.
In addition to the regular slate of Monday restaurant deals, here’s a quick list of all the Tax Day Food Deals we predict you’ll see on April 15, 2024, based on deals we saw last year.

Tax Day is a once-a-year event where you can get food deals all day long.
Lots of restaurants and businesses are celebrating the end of the 2023 tax season by offering discounts and freebies. The most common tax form — Form 1040 — is referenced a lot. For example, a chicken meal at Boston Market cost $10.40, while Cheesecake Factory offered $10.40 off purchases of $50 or more. These deals are good all day during Tax Day, April 15.
Tax Day happens every year on April 15.
The federal income tax filing deadline is April 15 every year — unless April 15 falls on a weekend or observed holiday in Washington, D.C. If that happens, it’ll bump to the next business day. Although Tax Day was on April 18 in 2023, that was because April 15 was on a Saturday, and the following Monday was Emancipation Day in D.C. In 2024, Tax Day will be on Monday, April 15.

H&R Block Tax Software
Amazon currently has H&R Block software up to 25% off. They all come with a gift card bonus; if you choose to get your refund via an Amazon Gift Card you'll get a 2% bonus.
Intuit Turbotax Software
Right now, you can save up to 21% on Intuit tax software at Amazon. All verisons are downloadable so you don't have to worry about shipping and having to manually download them.
eFile: Submit your taxes online and get $10 off.
When you prepare your taxes with eFile, you can save at least $10 on all tiers of their tax preparation services. Just select one of the options, and the discount will automatically be applied to your account when you pay.
Tax Day deals we expect to see in 2024
In 2023, Applebee's offered drinks for about 29% off throughout April, including Tax Day.
Applebee’s released new mixed drinks that cost $6 each last year, compared to a typical mixed drink from Applebee's at $8.50.
BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse offered a $10 off $40 purchase on Tax Day 2023.

Watch for a BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse to offer a $10 off any $40 deal for takeout or delivery orders on April 15.
Boston Market had a half-chicken meal for $10.40 on April 15.
We expect Boston Market will again celebrate the end of tax season this year by giving us a half-chicken meal (regularly $12.49) for $10.40 — a 15.4% discount. This meal is served with your choice of two sides and cornbread.

Fazoli’s customers got a free order of breadsticks on Tax Day 2023.
Last year, select Fazoli’s locations offered six breadsticks for free (regularly $3.99) from April 14 to 20. We hope to see this deal again in 2024.
Great American Cookie had BOGO cookie cake slices on April 15, 2023.
Watch for an in-store BOGO cookie cake slices deal (regularly $4.59) at participating Great American Cookie locations on Tax Day.
Grimaldi’s Pizzeria customers saved $10.40 on orders of $30 or more on Tax Day 2023.
We predict Grimaldi’s Pizzeria will have a $10.40 off a $30+ order deal on Tax Day.
H&H Bagels offered a bagel with cream cheese for free on April 15, 2023.
H&H Bagels in New York offered Plain, Everything, and Cinnamon Raisin Tax-Free Bagels on Tax Day last year. You could get a full-sized, unsliced bagel — all filled with Philadelphia cream cheese. This offer was valid at the H&H Bagels Manhattan locations or at HHBagels.com. We expect this deal to return in 2024.
Hooters: Watch for $10.40 meal deals and drink specials for Tax Day 2024.
Last year, on April 18, Hooters offered three 1040-EZ meals (each came with fries) that cost $10.40. Here were the options:
Four Tenders (reg. $12.49) — a 16.7% discount
Six Bone-In Wings (reg. $12.49) — a 16.7% discount
Eight Boneless Wings (reg. $11.49) — a 9.5% discount
Additionally, you could get discounts on select drinks on April 18:
Blue Moons (reg. $5) for $2 — a 60% discount
$4 off Long Island Iced Tea (reg. $8.99) — a 44.5% discount

Kona Ice customers got a free shaved ice and celebrate Chill Out Day on April 15, 2023.
Kona Ice turns Tax Day into Chill Out Day with a free cup of shaved ice (regularly $3) on Tax Day. Check to see if your Kona Ice location is participating in 2024.
Krispy Kreme 2023 deal was: Buy 1 dozen Original Glazed or Classic Assorted, get 1 dozen Original Glazed free for the price of your state sales tax (no state sales tax — second dozen is free!).
We hope to see this deal in 2024! When you purchase an Original Glazed Dozen (regularly $14.49) or Assorted Dozen (normally $16.49), you can get a second Original Glazed Dozen for the price of sales tax in your state when you use a promo code online at KrispyKreme.com. For in-restaurant orders, mention the deal when ordering in person.
If your state doesn’t have sales tax (AK, DE, MT, NH, and OR), your second dozen will be free.

Potbelly offered BOGO sandwiches on Tax Day 2023.
