For more than 70 years Lancashire Life has been filled with stories celebrating the people, places, institutions and businesses that make the county such a wonderful place to live, work and visit. The first issue came out in 1947 and the then editor laid out the magazine’s editorial aim in an introduction entitled ‘The Spirit of Lancashire’. He wrote that the magazine intended ‘… to reveal the county to its natives as well as to those less fortunate in their county of origin’.Much has changed since then, of course, but one thing that remains as strong as ever is our ambition to ‘reveal the county’ and Lancashire Life continues to shout about all the good things happening here, and the people doing them. It features the best writing and fabulous photography and it’s always packed with fascinating stories, amazing people and great ideas for places to go and things to do. It's also the place to look for inspiration in the kitchen - or to find the best places to eat out. And if you want to give your home a makeover, or move to a new one, our property section is a must.Every issue is a tub-thumping rallying call for the county, encouraging people – natives and the ‘less fortunates’ alike – to get out and explore Lancashire. To discover, or re-discover, all those beautiful places around the county which hold special memories, or where those memories can be created.
