I like the colour of her coat and the light grey scarf, very smart outfit, but the Princess Royal needs to cut her hair, it looks like straw.

The scarf is the nicest and prettiest part of the outfit.
Is it the one Charles supposedly gifted to the royal ladies at Christmas?

No this scarf is not the one gifted over the Christmas Holiday. It was a totally different pattern and color.

I think not. King Charles gifted the men and the women of the family with
"The Highgrove Heritage Scarf" which is made from 100% Australian merino wool. You can buy one, they sell at a price of £115.

Wonderful to see Anne!!!! The outfit she is wearing is warm, lovely, stylish, as she always gets it just right for each occasion. She is after all, the one English Royal with the most engagements every year, including multiple engagements per one day, which shows her strength and character. Thank you Helen, for bringing this beautiful woman (in her 70's) to the blog, hope you continue to cover her work. Edwina

Much ado about nothing, her hair. Her choice is to wear it casual, natural, even if it means its not up to "everyone else's" standard of what hair should look like. Maxima, for instance forgets a hair brush, rather than looking well kept, even though she has multi-layered thin hair that needs to be contained. Princess Anne, keeps her style, true to herself, its neat, tidy, and not a mess. I appreciate her dedication to styling her hair herself (except for formal occasions).

Your statements about Maxima are not accurate or fair. How do you know she forgets a hair brush? We all have different hair. Anne's hair wouldn't move in a hurricane because it is plastered down with hairspray. Maxima's hair is not sprayed in place. She has hair that is thin and it doesn't take much weather to disturb it. Kate and Mary, for example, have full, thick hair that can hold together better in wind. I can't imagine where or how you think Maxima would brush her hair publicly after coming in from the car. These ladies slip their coats off discretely. If Anne does have her hair done for her on formal occasions, I have never noticed. That is not saying much for her hairstylist. We can disagree about Anne's hair. I don't happen to think it is a flex to have dry, frizzy hair that she does herself. It does not look healthy at all. That is nothing to brag about. I think it is mean spirited to compare her to Maxima, who is an easy target for everyone. At least she tries and she wears different styles.

      Dear @Anon 17:57 (Edwina)
You said …… “Maxima, for instance, forgets a hair brush, rather than looking well kept.”
Now that’s just one, frightfully, awful comment about Max.
Below the belt if you ask me.
You know, I’m on the executive committee of Max’s fan club and we don’t like comments like that.
I’d suggest, dear Anon 17:57 (Edwina) you double lock your front door at night.
Our members don’t like those type of comments and they’ve got good contacts with the hair police.
p.s. My hubby said to double lock your windows as well.

It is simple, as long as it is Queen Maxima almost everybody think she does not take care of her hair, when it is Princess Anne oh no, nobody may say something because her hair is neat, tidy, not a mess.....
I have also noticed that Queen Maxima is regularly called "Maxima" while she is a queen and Princess Anne well almost nobody calls her "Anne". When I write or speak about the royal ladies automatically I use their title : Queen, Princess, duch*ess, etc...

Dear 08:22. With her fanclub it’s not even Maxima.
      It’s Max.
      She’s our fun loving Queen.
I don’t think the lack of title is a problem for Max.
      On the contrary 😁

No she does not have a problem with it, lucky for her. I never heard that a queen has a "fanclub". As far as I know, it is only on this blog that Queen Maxima is called Max not on other sites. When we heard that we could not use the name "Kate" anymore but must say "Catherine" or better "duch*ess Catherine", automatically I called her like that. It is not up to us to call royals like their friends or inner circle call them. I do not belong to their personal friends.

Dear AnneLise, I do not think that my comment about Princess Anne was 'unkind' i just said it needed to be cut because it does looks like straw and unhealthy, as you can see in this blog I am not the only one who made comments about Princess Anne's hair, and what about Queen Maxima everybody complains about her hair. The other day one lady made a comment about King Felipe's beard, she said he should cut it because it makes him look old?? I did not forget fashion, I made a nice comment about her outfit.

I don't care if it is a Burberry or something from H & M and how much it costs as long as it protects from the rain. It is plenty of creases just like Queen Maxima's trousers, any body ? Princess Anne and Queen Maxima have more than one problem in common : first there was the hair, now there are the creases....

@Anon 16:46 You sound like you have a vendetta against Maxima (and creases.) Why bring Maxima into this? The brand of the coat does matter, however, because of the fashion blog part. The same goes for the price. Creases and wrinkles happen with some fabrics. Get over it. None of these ladies start the day wrinkled or creased.

@deadeggs I agree with you. It looks like a Burberry. It wouldn't surprise me to find out it is at least 30 years old.

I am certainly not fan of Prss Anne's hair style. I think that a dynamic and motivated person, as she is, can also from time to time rethink her hair style, probably with the help of her hairdresser for advice on what would be suitable bearing in mind her requirements.
