No green thumb? No problem! I may or may not struggle a bit with keeping my house plants alive. Some do swimmingly and some crash and burn.So this year I decided to rid myself of some of the stress and go faux! That’s right, I’m jumping on the fake plant bandwagon. But I couldn’t just have any plain ol’ plants, I wanted Painted Faux House Plants! Polka dots, shapes, and stripes (a la this!)! Instead of giving myself a makeover for the new year, I’m giving the plants a makeover! Just find some homely faux plants and jazz them up with paint to give them a new life.

Materials:
- Fake potted house plant
- Spray Paint — We used Design Master (which takes well to fake plants) in Blush, Deep Blue, and Sky blue
- Acrylic paint in coral, deep green, and seafoam
- Paintbrushes
- Masking tape to tape off the pots
- Cardstock in complimentary shades to cover your pots, optional
Instructions:
- Tape off the pot to protect anyunwanted surfaces from the paint
- Spray paint your plant, following the tips on the spray paint can. We gave ours about 3 coats each, including the undersides of the leaves.
- Once the base color is dry, you can add additional patterns! We used big polka dots, small triangles, and stripes.
- To finish, we covered the pots with a piece of cardstock to create a smooth seamless finish.
