CLASSIC GLASS CANDLE WITH SOY AND COCONUT WAX.

Choosing to blend your wax and fragrances sets you apart from everyone else.

Hey there! Are you interested in creating your own special blend of Coco/Soy wax? Great idea. It's perfect for increasing the shelf lifeof your Soy wax candle, as well as softening the wax to help with adhesion (wonderful during the cooler months). Some even believe it increase cold/hot throw but that's for you to experiment with.

STEP 1

Collect:

1kg Soy Wax - C3 or GW464

(10%) 20% - (100gm) 200gm coconut wax

60-80mlcandle fragranceper kilogram

STEP 2

Set up your double saucepan, adding the soy and coconut wax to the inner pot. Our results show that 1kg GW464 will cope with 200gm coconut, but C3 is better with only 100gm.

Then add yourcandle fragrance- 60-80ml per kilogram.

Once it's melted, allow it to heat up for about 5 minutes. If you have a thermometer, bring it up to 85-90C. For best results allow it to cool around 70C or less prior to pouring.

STEP3

Wick your candle, either with a wick sticker prior to pouring, or adding the wick once a layer has set on the base.

Have your wick bar handy, or make one of these clever little skewer grips that holds your wick nice and tight, see one in the photo below.

STEP4

Once melted and cooled to pour temperature, pour into your glass.

If you haven't used a wick sticker, add your wick once the wax sets a little on the base - you can see this in the candles on the right.

Trim short, to about 5mm before lighting.
