Kamisato Ayaka is one of the first characters you'll meet in Inazuma. She's the eldest daughter of Kamisato Clan and a mighty warrior in her own right. Not only does she have high attack and a powerful set of elemental abilities, but she's one of the few characters capable of applying her element without using a Skill or Burst.

Kamisato Ayaka is seen as the model of perfection due to the status she holds as the eldest daughter of the Kamisato Clan from the Yashiro Commission. However, what hides behind this facade is someone who wants to enjoy the world as much as she can.

Kamisato Ayaka debuted in her own character banner called "The Heron's Court" in 2020, and Hoyoverse brought the banner back for the second half of Genshin Impact's 2.6 update. The current Heron's Court banner runs until May 9. The next banner is delayed indefinitely, and Hoyoverse hasn't yet announced what will run after Ayaka's banner.

Combat Details

Kamisato Ayaka is a Cryo swordsman that has an affinity for dealing heavy damage. Her elemental burst creates a Cryo whirlwind that pushes enemies away and deals constant damage to all caught up in it, while her elemental skill launches foes in a brief Cryo blast. Ayaka's sprint lets her cross over water and creates a small burst of Cryo when she stops sprinting. For a short time afterwards, Ayaka's weapon is infused with Cryo, and her normal and charged attacks deal Cryo damage.

Kamisato Ayaka's Talents and Skill Priorities

advertisem*nt

Most of Ayaka's damage comes from her elemental burst, though during cooldown while you recover Energy, you'll want to focus on her normal attacks. As with any character, you’ll want to spend your Ayaka talent materials wisely. Focus on these if you’re mostly using her for the Spiral Abyss or Domains.

  • Burst
  • Normal/Charged
  • Skill

If you don’t run the Abyss that often and are more interested in progressing the story, Ayaka’s normal attack should take priority over her Burst.

Kamisato Ayaka's Constellations

Kamisato Ayaka's constellations only further improve her damage-dealing capabilities. Notable ones to look out for are C1, C2, and C4.

Constellation NameIn-Game Description
Snowswept Sakura (C1)When Kamisato Ayaka's Normal or Charged Attacks dealCryoDMG to opponents, it has a 50% chance of decreasing the CD of Kamisato Art: Hyouka by 0.3s. This effect can occur once every 0.1s.
Blizzard Blade Seki no To (C2)When casting Kamisato Art: Soumetsu, unleashes 2 smaller additional Frostflake Seki no To, each dealing 20% of the original storm's DMG.
Frostbloom Kamifubuki (C3)Increases the Level of Kamisato Art: Soumetsu by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Ebb and Flow (C4)Opponents damaged by Kamisato Art: Soumetsu's Frostflake Seki no To will have their DEF decreased by 30% for 6s.
Blossom Cloud Irutsuki (C5)Increase the Level of Kamisato Art: Hyouka by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Dance of Suigetsu (C6)Kamisato Ayaka gains Usurahi Butou every 10s, increasing her Charged Attack DMG by 298%. This buff will be cleared 0.5s after Ayaka's Charged ATK hits an opponent, after which the timer for this ability will restart.

Ayaka is primarily a DPS character. You can use her as elemental support for another DPS thanks to the Cryo effect her dash applies, though putting her in that role misses out on her potential as a powerful main DPS.

Ayaka’s passive Talent Amatsumi Kumitsumi Sanctification increases her normal and charged damage by 30% after using her Skill, and the Kanten Senmyou Blessing Talent increases Cryo damage by 18% for 10 seconds after the Cryo fog effect from Ayaka’s dash connects with an enemy. That’s a 48% boost without even considering the potential for additional critical damage from freezing opponents.

Ayaka’s critical damage increases as she levels up. Given how easily she can apply Cryo, the most popular way to build Ayaka is as a Freeze machine, with the Blizzard Strayer set, an extra Cryo character, and a Hydro character.

Pairing her with fighters such as Xingqiu and Kamisato Ayato, whose Hydro effects linger long after the characters leave the field, means you can continually Freeze enemies. Blizzard Strayer increases the user’s critical hit rate against Frozen enemies by 40%, and the Shattering Ice Resonance effect, obtained by having two Cryo characters in your party, boosts it a further 15%.

The same principle applies to parties built around other elements as well. Pair Ayaka withXiangling or Bennett for a Melt party, while Fischl and the Raiden Shogun are handy for Superconduct parties, which has the added bonus of reducing the enemy’s physical resistance.

If you managed to recruit Yun Jin, she’s an excellent support unit for Ayaka (or anyone else, for that matter). Yun Jin’s Burst increases the party’s normal attack damage based on her defense, which pairs well with Ayaka’s natural attack boost from her passive talent.

Best Weapons for Kamisato Ayaka

advertisem*nt

The best weapons for Ayaka are ones that boost Elemental damage or critical hit rate. Mistsplitter Reforged is still ideal for her. Even at the lowest refinement tier, it increases the user’s Elemental damage by 12% and, after acquiring Mistsplitter Emblems, that buff increases to 40%. The sword’s secondary stat increases Ayaka’s critical damage by nearly 10% as well, so at level 90, Ayaka would be dealing almost 100% critical damage.

If you got the sword, but not the brother during version 2.6’s first banner, you’re still in luck. Haran Geppaku Futsu works almost as well for Ayaka as Mistsplitter Reforged. Rather than boosting critical damage, this one buffs the user’s critical rate by nearly 10%, which makes it an excellent choice for a Freeze/Shattering Ice build. It also increases the user’s Elemental damage by 12% and can buff normal attacks by 20-40% after the wielder uses an Elemental Skill. The catch is that Ayaka’s cooldown lasts one second longer than the weapon’s special effect, so you’d need her at C1 to get the full buff

The Sacrificial Sword is another solid choice for Ayaka, and, since it’s a four-star weapon, it’s potentially easier to obtain. The secondary stat raises the user’s Energy Recharge by 13.3% – especially handy since Ayaka generates few Energy Particles – and the refinement skill has a substantial chance of ending the wielder’s skill cooldown timer. Ayaka’s Skill raises her normal and charged attack power by 30% for six seconds, so ending the cooldown timer is a useful ability to have in more ways than one.

Weapon NameIn-Game Description
Mistsplitter ReforgedGain a12% ElementalDMG Bonusfor every element and receive the might of Mistsplitter's Emblem. At stack levels 1/2/3, Mistsplitter's Emblem provides a8/16/28% Elemental DMG Bonus for the character's Elemental Type.

The character will obtain 1 stack of Mistsplitter's Emblem in each of the following scenarios: Normal Attack deals Elemental DMG (stack lasts 5s), casting Elemental Burst (stack lasts 10s); Energy is less than 100% (stack disappears when Energy is full). Each stack's duration is calculated independently.

Haran Geppaku FutsuObtain 12~24% All Elemental DMG Bonus. When other nearby party members use Elemental Skills, the character equipping this weapon will gain 1 Wavespike stack. Max 2 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every
0.3s. When the character equipping this weapon uses an Elemental Skill, all stacks of Wavespike will be consumed to gain Rippling Upheaval: each stack of Wavespike consumed will increase Normal Attack DMG by 20~40% for 8s.
Sacrificial SwordAfter dealing damage to an opponent with an Elemental Skill,
the skill has a 40~80% chance to end its own CD. Can only occur once every 30~16s.

Best Free-to-Play/Below AR45 Weapons for Kamisato Ayaka

If you’re over AR 30 and completed the Farmer’s Treasure World Quest, Amenoma Kageuchi is one of the better free weapons for Ayaka. Its secondary stat raises attack by 12% at the lowest refinement level, and the passive ability lets the user restore Energy after they use an Elemental Burst.

Prototype Rancor is another strong contender. It has a higher base attack stat, increases physical damage dealt, and raises the user’s attack and defense by up to 16% after they use a normal or charged attack.

advertisem*nt

If you don’t feel like forging, consider using the three-start sword Cool Steel. Its base attack is 39, just slightly below Amenoma Kageuchi’s attack power, but its secondary stat raises the user’s attack by 7.7%. When you attack an enemy afflicted with Hydro or Cryo – which you’ll be doing a lot as Ayaka – Cool Steel increases the damage dealt by 12%.

Weapon NameIn-Game Description
Amenoma KageuchiAfter casting an Elemental Skill, gain 1 Succession Seed. This effect can be triggered once every 5s. The Succession Seed lasts for 30s. Up to 3 Succession Seeds may exist simultaneously. After using an Elemental Burst, all Succession Seeds are consumed and after 2s, the character regenerates 6~12 Energy for each seed consumed.
Prototype RancorOn hit, Normal or Charged Attacks increase ATK and DEF by 4~8% for 6s. Max 4 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s.
Cool SteelIncreases DMG against opponents affected by Hydro or Cryo by 12~24%.

Best Artifacts for Kamisato Ayaka

Blizzard Strayer is the natural choice for Ayaka, since Ayaka she relies so heavily on Cryo damage, but you have other, equally useful options if the full set eludes you.

Blizzard Strayer’s two-piece effect increases Cryo damage by 15%, but the four-piece set is even more useful for a Freeze-focused Ayaka. It increases the user’s critical hit rate by 20% if they attack opponents afflicted with Cryo and then increases it by a further 20% if the enemy is Frozen.

Blizzard Strayer is also difficult to acquire, so if you only manage to get two pieces, you can supplement it with the two-piece Noblesse Oblige set, which increases Elemental Burst damage by 20%. You'll naturally get five-star versions of these as rewards for leveling up your Adventure Rank, though you can also find them in Domains.

The new Vermillion Hereafter set works well for Ayaka’s normal attack. The two-piece set raises attack by 18%, though the full set is more interesting. The four-piece effect increases attack by a further eight percent, and if the user loses HP – a highly likely scenario for a main DPS – they gain the Nascent Light effect, which raises attack by 10% up to four times.

Artifact NameIn-Game Description
Blizzard Strayer
  • 2-piece effect: Cryo DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4-piece effect: When a character attacks an opponent affected by Cryo, their CRIT Rate is increased by 20%. If the opponent is Frozen, CRIT Rate is increased by an additional 20%.
Noblesse Oblige
  • 2-piece effect: Elemental Burst DMG +20%
  • 4-piece effect: Using an Elemental Burst increases all party members' ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.
Vermillion Hereafter
  • 2-piece effect: ATK +18%.
  • 4-piece effect: After using an Elemental Burst. this character will gain the Nascent Light effect, increasing their ATK by 8% for 16s. When the character's HP decreases, their ATK will further increase by 10%. This increase can occur this way maximum of 4 times. This effect can be triggered once every 0.8s. Nascent Light will be dispelled when the character leaves the field. If an Elemental Burst is used again during the duration of Nascent Light, the original Nascent Light will be dispelled.

Best Free-to-Play/Below AR45 Artifacts for Kamisato Ayaka

If you’re below AR 45, never fear. Blizzard Strayer is found in the Peak of Vindagnyr Domain in Dragonspine, and while you should ideally be AR 20 to handle the dangers there, you can technically explore it at any time.

The Gladiator’s Finale set is another solid choice. The two-piece effect raises attack by 18%, and the four-piece effect increases that buff by a further 35% if the wearer uses a sword, polearm, or claymore. For Ayaka, that’s an attack boost of 53% before even considering the buffs from her talents. This is a fairly common set that drops from weekly bosses, normal bosses, and the reliquaries you can obtain in the Spiral Abyss.

advertisem*nt

If you want to use Ayaka’s skill more often, consider trying the Gambler set. The two-piece effect increases the power of the user’s elemental skill by 30%, and the four-piece effect removes the skill’s cooldown timer after the user defeats an opponent. This set may also drop in the Peak of Vindagnyr Domain, along with Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern on Mt. Aocang, though the AR requirement is 35 for that one.

Artifact NameIn-Game Description
Blizzard Strayer
  • 2-piece effect: Cryo DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4-piece effect: When a character attacks an opponent affected by Cryo, their CRIT Rate is increased by 20%. If the opponent is Frozen, CRIT Rate is increased by an additional 20%.
Gladiator's Finale
  • 2-piece effect: Increases ATK by 18%
  • 4-piece effect: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.
Gambler
  • 2-piece effect: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 20%.
  • 4-piece effect: Defeating an opponent has a 100% chance to remove Elemental Skill CD. Can only occur once every 15s.
