Flour & Water Glue

To make your own simple flour paste glue you need only 2 ingredients; Flour and water. Take some plain flour, a mixing bowl and a tablespoon and place 3 heaped tablespoons of flour into the mixing bowl. Next, add an equal amount of tablespoons of water to the flour and mix. The flour should have the consistency of porridge and should spread easily. The flour and water glue will dry rock hard but can be loosened with some warm water.

Animal Glue

If you have access to pig skin, bones and trotters then you can make your own adhesive that is clear, sticky and easy to store for a long period of time. Pig is the easiest animal to find these parts for, although horse would work better. Take all of the animal parts and place them in a large cooking pot filled with boiling water. Boil the parts for a good 30 minutes and then reduce to a simmer for several more hours. The collagen from within the body parts is released into the boiling water and forms a layer on the top of the water surface. Allow the water to cool and then scoop the sticky layer from the top of the water and place it in an old, washed jam jar. Use to glue paper, fabric and canvas together with a strong and clear hold.

Jelly & Sugar Glue paste.

Take a packet of jelly that comes in cube form and place into a microwaveable dish. Next, add one tablespoon of brown sugar and one tablespoon of water and put on high for 60 seconds. Take out the jelly and stir before placing on for another 25 seconds. As soon as you take it out, use a small paint brush to dip into the jelly paste glue and apply to your objects. When the jelly starts to harden in the bowl, simply microwave it for another 20 seconds to keep it runny.
