flavored chamomile teas

Chamomile tea is made from dried chamomile flowers and so naturally chamomile tea is a caffeine free drink.

You can read more about chamomile here and also find many uses of chamomile here.

Chamomile flower tea is the perfect natural drink if you love mild herbal teas.

One of the most common questions asked is how to make chamomile tea taste better as the tea itself is quite mild and may feel bland to some without any flavor enhancers or sweeteners.

If you are wondering how to make chamomile tea taste better and if you are in a hurry, try this honey vanilla chamomile tea which is delicious on its own!

If you are in a hurry, this is what I use often to make the unflavoredchamomile tea taste better naturally.

what does chamomile tea taste like?

Chamomile tea is a mild herbal tea made from dried chamomile flowers (daisy flowers) and it has a very mild flowery flavor and taste.

It's not sweet on its own nor its bitter in taste unless you add too many tea bags to increase the flavor. I usually like to add one or two chamomile tea bags to make one cup of chamomile tea.

If you want more mild tea, you can just use one tea bag and if you want more chamomile flavor, you may use more tea bags.

However, if you like strong flavored teas, chamomile tea may seem quite bland to you and you may like to add new flavors to it to make it taste better.

how to make chamomile tea taste better without using sugar?

Don't get me wrong, regular chamomile tea tastes good even with out sugar, sweetener or any flavor enhancers.

I love to drink chamomile tea as it is even without any sweeteners or flavors, although I love to add raw honey as well and enjoy it as well when I want to flavor it.

However, I know that not everyone enjoys the chamomile tea just as it is, because the flavor of chamomile tea is quite subtle and mild.

If you do not want to use sugar but want to make the chamomile tea taste better without sugar, you can try raw honey (just like I do sometimes!) or you can use other natural sweeteners like pure maple syrup (make sure to use the natural 100% pure maple syrup) or your favorite natural sweeteners.

I also have this honey green tea recipe here where green tea is sweetened with honey and you can also find there tips to make green tea without making it taste bitter!

chamomile tea for young children (do not use honey)

However, keep in mind that if you are making chamomile tea for a baby (if advised by a doctor) or smaller children, you should not use honey to sweeten the tea, since honey is not recommended for young children. You can read more information about why you should not give honey to young children here.

I am not a doctor and this post is meant for informational purpose and discussions only, so if you are making tea for babies or younger children, always make sure to discuss with the child's doctor before trying anything herbal including chamomile tea and you might look for other options to sweeten the tea as you cannot use honey.

You can read here the best chamomile tea recipes along with more tips on how to make chamomile tea taste better.

does chamomile tea has caffeine?

No, chamomile tea made from natural chamomile flowers does not have caffeine.

Chamomile tea is a herbal tea made of chamomile flowers and it is caffeine free which makes it the perfect choice for those who are looking for caffeine free tea & drinks to add to their diet.

Since the chamomile tea is naturally caffeine free, it may be a better option than regular tea or coffee for some people who have to limit their caffeine intake.

However chamomile tea is a herbal tea and those who have allergy to chamomile or daisy flowers should not use it.

Also if you have any medical conditions for which you take medicines, please check with your doctor before taking any new herbs or herbal teas.

I am not a doctor so if you have any medical concerns over any herbal teas including chamomile tea you should check with your doctor first, and you may use the article only for discussion purposes.

You can make fresh chamomile tea from dried chamomile flowers or you can buynatural chamomile tea bags to make the chamomile tea easily.

If you use dried chamomile flowers powder, you can use almost 1 tablespoon of dried powder in place of 1 chamomile tea bag (that is either use 1 tablespoon dry chamomile tea powder or use chamomile 1 tea bag). If you want more strong flavor, you can use two teabags instead of one teabag.

If you make large quantities of tea, it is a good idea to store the prepared tea for later use.

You can store the tea in the refrigerator for a couple of days (transfer to refrigerator once the tea is cooled to room temperature) and you can serve later as you need.

If you want hot or warm tea, just heat on stove top or you can heat the tea in microwave safe mugs or cups. Otherwise, just add ice cubes to enjoy iced tea.

For longer storage, you can transfer the tea to ice cube trays and store for even more days, though I haven't stored this for more than a couple of weeks.
