As lovely as fresh flowers are, their loveliness is always short-lived. But not the case with faux flowers, which can look delightfully realistic these days. Plus you never have to water them or worry about them wilting.
Instead of buying artificial flowers, though, you can DIY them yourself for only the cost of paper, tissue paper, or even coffee filters plus some crafting time. Once you've learned how to make flowers in all the sizes and colors you like, you can place them an arrangement, perhaps in a mason jar, as part of a centerpiece for your dining table. DIY paper flowers also make cheery decorations for wedding bouquets or baby and bridal showers. Afterward, they'll live on as long as you like as a part of your home decor too. Like dahlias? Roses? Hydrangeas? Hyacinths? You can DIY any or all of them. The limit is only your imagination, especially with the entire rainbow of colors at your fingertips, and the process is fairly simple and easy too.
And now get your paper, scissors and hot glue gun ready—here are 20 DIY paper flower tutorials to take you step by step from plain paper to whimsical floral beauties.
