Detectives Needed (DN) is recurring time-limited event during which the player collects Winding Key tokens to unlock varying rewards. Detective Needed events typically run for 1 to 3 days and can be accessed from the Orchid Island screen. The Detectives Needed event is hidden behind the stop watch symbol on the left side of the screen. Events are announced a few hours beforehand by the same stop watch symbol appearing on the screen that shows a countdown when tapped on.
Other time-limited events are the Fairground Fortune and Sweep the Board.

How it works[]
In the Detectives Needed event, there is a progress bar with smaller waypoint rewards leading up to the main prize at the very end. To fill up the progress bar the player has to collect golden Winding Keys. Those Winding Keys can be collected by playing Hidden Object Scenes and usually by solving Help Wanted cases as well. How many Winding Keys can be earned by playing a Scene or solving a Help Wanted case varies from one Detectives Needed event to another. Usually, solving medium or hard Help Wanted cases provide relatively large aḿounts of Winding Keys, so it might be a good strategy to complete those if possible.
Waypoint rewards can be various amounts of coins, diamonds, energy, compasses, Memoir packs and at the very end there will be a bigger prize. That prize is usually a number of 5-Star-Boxes or a decoration. The decoration can be a reoccuring decoration of a previous seasonal set, but it also can be a new decoration. Sometimes there will be waypoints where the player can choose between two rewards.
