The Karanprayag railway project is an ambitious project. Its still under construction but once it will get in final shape then trains will go closer to Kedarnath temple. The nearest station will be in Rudraprayag.

From Rishikesh to Karanprayag, there will be total of 12 stations and it will be a 120 Km long railway line where it passes through 17 tunnels and 35 bridges.

Stations between Rishikesh to Karanprayag will be –

Rishikesh, Muni Ki Reti, Shivpuri, Manjilgaon, Sakni, Devprayag, Kirtinagar, Srinagar, Dhari, Rudraprayag, Gholtir, Ghauchar, and Karanprayag

Karanprayag will be the nearest railway station to Badrinath and Rudraprayag will be the nearest to Kedarnath.

Last Bus stop for Kedarnath –

Sonprayag is the last bus stop. The bus will drop you and the sharing taxi will go till Gaurikund, it will take 30 more minutes. and from Gaurikund, you need to start your trek to Kedarnath.

If you are planning by helicopter, then Guptakashi and Phata are the helipads where you will get your helicopter.
