Clare van Buren (nee Parker) is June Parker's sister and Virginia van Buren's mother. She and her husband Harry van Buren die under suspicious circ*mstances, which prompts June's first investigation.
Personality[]
As a young woman Clare took to etiquette and during her parent's divorce, she kept her emotional troubles to herself. Clare was also a philanthropist and liked to organize charity events.
Background[]
As a girl, Clare seems to have been successful, which lead to tension between her and June.
During college Clare met and started dating Harry van Buren. According to June (during the Level 2 Church Remodel), Clare literally backed her car into Harry's car while attempting to take her friend to the hospital for a broken arm. Harry drove them instead, and asked her on a date while they were in the waiting room. Still, she had a short romantic relationship with Harry's best friend, Sam Watts, which resulted in Virginia's birth. After graduating from Richmond college in 1910 (as seen in chapter 4), Clare married Harry van Buren and took his name.

A few years before his death, she asked June for help to find their mother, but June refused. Later, at an unknown point in time, she sought out Sam Watts, who was an FBI agent, to search for her mother Irene.
Story[]
At the beginning of the story, Clare and Harry are murdered by Sam Watts, who is enraged that they kept Virginia, his biological daughter, a secret from him.
