Before we get started, I know that one question that comes back regularly is ‘Are Yankee Candles toxic?’.

Since Yankee Candles uses paraffin wax in their candles, you should pay attention to which scents you buy if you have allergies or asthma.

However, more studies are to be conducted to know for sure whether or not candles are toxic, no matter which brand you buy.

Also, when you burn a candle, you shouldn’t burn it for more than 3 or 4 hours at a time.

There’s no clear answer as to whether Yankee Candles are toxic or not, but I know that by burning the candles only for a few hours, I have never experienced any health issues.

Why?

Because it smells like everything autumn, bottled up in a beautiful purple jar. It’s dreamy, and I’ve never come across any other candle brands that make such a scent.

In Yankee Candle’s words, we have earthy leaves with patchouli and golden sunlight mixing together, giving a result close to a walk through the forest in autumn.

It does smell fresh, but it has this warmth to it so specific to autumn – and it’s perfect if you want to study, write, read, or just chill at the end of a September day.

In my words, this is one of the most perfect autumn Yankee Candle scents ever created. No wonder why it’s a best seller!

Best Autumn Yankee Candle Scents: Seaside Woods

The second one of the best Yankee Candle scents for autumn, in my opinion, is Seaside Woods. I’ve bought this candle several times, and everything from the scents to the throw is great about it.

Seaside Woods has a base note of cottonwood and driftwood, and to be fair, despite the top and mid notes, these are the ones I smell the most.

While this is to me one of the best Yankee Candle scents for fall, Seaside Woods, in my opinion, is also a perfect ocean scented candle for warm summer nights.

Needless to say, this is the best Yankee Candle scent for me whether it’s autumn, wintertime, or even to light on a warm summer night.

Vanilla Cupcake is undoubtedly one of the best Yankee Candle scents, and it’s been around for quite a few years now.

It’s the candle that will make you want to base and eat biscuits with hot tea, or have a delicious breakfast and linger.

With notes of vanilla icing and chocolate, the Yankee Candle Vanilla Cupcake candle has been a favorite of mine for some time, and I’ve already bought it several times.

One could argue that it’s one of the best Yankee Candle scents for Christmas – not so much for autumn.

However, as soon as the weather starts getting wetter and greyer, Vanilla Cupcake is one of my go-to candles.

Like Seaside Woods, I consider Moonlit Blossoms one of the best autumn Yankee Candle scents. It’s completely unforgettable.

While its throw is shorter than other Yankee Candles like Autumn Glow and Vanilla Cupcake, I’ve had no trouble smelling it for hours in a very large room.

I do think the best Yankee Candles are the ones that do not smell too much, and luckily, in this guide, I’m telling you only about my all-time favorite autumn Yankee Candle scents.

An overpowering scent can quickly give me a headache, and I’ve never had any issue with the autumn Yankee Candle scents I’m listing for you today.

Moonlit Blossoms has various flowery and clean notes of amber, white musk, and pomegranate that mix up very nicely.

Cinnamon Stick relies on powerful, spicy notes – and boy does it smell nice! I’ve had the medium jar for this one, and I’m going to get a second one soon.

It is, by definition, one of the very best autumn Yankee Candle scents. When burning it, you’ll smell not only cinnamon but cardamom and cedarwood – all the kinds of scents I love when autumn comes.

It’s troubling because the scents of citrus, flowers, patchouli, and sunflower seed all blend perfectly together.

If you like scents that are not too strong, Golden Autumn is definitely the best Yankee Candle scent for you.

It’s beautiful, it’s soft and dreamy, and honestly reminiscent of the crisp autumn season.

To be honest, I usually burn my candles for longer than the 3 or 4 hours recommended because I forget them when I’m working on the blog.

And obviously, sometimes, I have a headache if the scents are too overpowering.

Not only does it smell amazing, but the scent of Mulberry & Fig Delight lingers well after you put it off.

Cherry, cherry, and more cherry in the Yankee Candle Black Cherry candle.

Although you will find some almond and cinnamon notes, that’s a completely warm and fruity scent we’ve got here.

Perfect for any time of the year, but if you’ve been looking for autumn Yankee Candle scents, then Black Cherry was made for you.

I always try to steer clear of cherry-scented candles, simply because I don’t like it when the cherry fragrance used feels too chemical.

The main difference, however, is that the Seaside Woods candle is properly woody, verging on an ocean scent, while Amber & Sandalwood also blends sweet notes in the mix.

Driftwood, patchouli and cedarwood are the notes we notice most, and with its base of vanilla and sandalwood, this is the perfect fall scent – which can also be enjoyed all throughout the spring, in my opinion.

The addition of Tonka bean, caramel and amber makes it a very sensual scent, and a great choice for whoever is looking for a dreamy candle for their bedroom.

With notes of mulled apple, vanilla bean, cedar, cider spices, peppercorn, pear and cinnamon, Mulled Sangria promises and delivers – it smells just like a steaming cup of mulled wine.
