Who is the god in Dark Souls?

During the start of the Age of Fire, Gwyn, Lord of Sunlight, discovered one of the four Lord Souls and became the king of Lordran, the world of Dark Souls. He ruled Lordran with a pantheon of gods in Anor Londo before leaving his kingdom to prolong the Age of Fire.

Rather than a state of being, godhood in Dark Souls is a state of prestige. In Anor Londo, one can marry into godhood and lose it just as easily. “God” is essentially a title conceived to elevate this one race and society above others, similar to how peerage separates upper and lower castes in aristocracies.

While Gwyn will try to rush you down, we recommend that you get up close to him, this will cause him to strafe left and miss a lot of the attacks with his sword, leaving him relatively open to attack. As the Lord of Death, Nito rules over the dead in The Catacombs and resides within the Tomb of Giants. His army of skeletons guard his tomb, while his Gravelord Servants spread death through the Eyes of Death.
