Now any age can play Zelda, (well depends on the game, TP was pretty dark) there isn't alot of gore or bad words. But not everybody is going to beat a Zelda game because for one there is alot of thinking involved. It is a free roaming game and people might get lost.
Overall I'd say this game is great for kids 9+ and will provide endless amounts of fun for kids looking for an ever expanding and amazing adventure.
This game can be a bit scary for small children because of the monsters, and the face on the moon, even now there are some unsettling moments (the mask salesman for example). I would play with them if they're young.

There is only one game — Twilight Princess — that could be called “realistic” in style, and even that game bucks the trend in some important ways. Twilight Princess is the most-cited example of realism in the franchise.
There isn't anything overly violent or sexual, but the difficulty could be too hard and the storyline would be lost. If you're a parent reading this, Twilight Princess is rated Teen and the rating is manly because of the atmosphere of the game instead of the fighting.
