Later, he shows up and, due to a series of coincidences, thinks she and Trevor were together in her room. They fight about it and, still drunk, Tessa suggests they have sex. They do, but in the morning, she's less than happy about it. Another fight breaks out, and Hardin leaves.

What tragedy happens to Tessa in After Ever Happy?
Hardin discovers who his real father is, prompting him to burn his mother's apartment down. Just a couple of days later, Tessa finds her father dead on her bathroom floor following an overdose. Tragedies like these are mere casualties in the “After” series.

Noah Porter is a fictional character in the After series written by Anna Todd. He was the first boyfriend of Tessa Young, and they were together during more than two years. In the film adaptations, he is portrayed by Dylan Arnold.
Hardin Scott - Landon is Hardin's new stepbrother through his father's remarriage to Landon's mother, Karen. The relationship between the new siblings was strained from the beginning, though not from Landon's lack of trying.
Although at one stage it looked like After Ever Happy might be the final movie in the franchise, it was confirmed in August 2022 that a fifth film is also on the way. While in a bubble bath, Hardin wrote words on Tessa's back that she tried to guess. His last word was, "I love you", which she still didn't guess.
