KameNinja45 8 years ago#1 get your soul? Muffet hints at it, saying she saw them in the shadows, changing shape, but I can't think of who it might be. Opinion. |
HylianAngel 8 years ago#2 The shapeshifter is Mettaton. Mettaton says during his battle: "I WAS THE ONE THAT HIRED EVERYONE TO KILL YOU!" Since Mettaton's famous, he also has the money to afford paying off Muffet. During the Mettaton EX battle, he changes shape from box form to EX form. It’s stated to be his "premiere," but it just means that he hadn't shown off his new body in front of his audience yet. Soleil |

If you spare Toriel without killing her, Flowey states that his plan isn’t regicide, and that observing you is “SO much more interesting.” You can even check up on Flowey merely observing you and doing nothing else: if you can’t see the entrance of a room and if you get a phone call or a cutscene, you can return to the entrance of the room to see Flowey briefly before he disappears; he’s clearly following you, he’s not up ahead warning monsters, like Muffet, about you. There’s no personal gain out of him killing the Player; he only wants the 6 human souls. Flowey also has to be especially careful since he’s lost his SAVE/LOAD powers. He makes it clear during post-Asgore conversations that Sans would kill Flowey whenever Sans learned about Flowey. In previous timelines, Papyrus knew Flowey’s name and created the Flowey Fan Club, but in this timeline, Papyrus does NOT know Flowey’s name. This indicates minimum interference. The only time Flowey directly interferes is by using Papyrus to get the Player to befriend everyone then enter the True Lab. Soleil |
karablaise 8 years ago#7 I also tend to think it's Flowey--I'm not sure Mettaton had changed bodies at all yet at that point, and his forms seem consistent enough that I don't think I'd expect him to be changing shape before someone's eyes (she clearly didn't flip his switch, after all, and he strongly implies that his new body's never been seen before). While Flowey doesn't necessarily want to kill you, he seems to know about the saves and reloads, so he'd probably know Muffet couldn't just kill you. However, he's very interested in pushing YOU into killing someone in self-defense , and that, I think, provides plenty of motivation for him to push Muffet into fighting you. She's tough enough and uncooperative enough that he'd have had plenty of reason to think you'd have no choice but to kill her eventually. tl;dr Flowey's not trying to kill you, he's trying to make you kill. |

He can switch freely into his Mettaton NEO form during the Genocide route, which was his original form (created by Alphys to impress Asgore). If Mettaton really wanted to, he could switch into his EX form to avoid suspicion since not many people have seen him in this form yet. He also implies that he has been in either his NEO or EX form before if you input specific responses for the EX essay question. Also, the money bribe doesn't really make sense from Flowey. Like you can say that Flowey was lying, but Flowey can't really flaunt off the fact that he has lots of money. Soleil |
