What are Bell Bearings?

Bell Bearings are key items obtained by various means in Elden Ring. Each has a specific name and rank and they have a very specific purpose.
After obtaining a Bell Bearing, giving them to the Twin Maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold unlocks the sale of specific items, with rewards depending on the Bell Bearing given.

Bell Bearing Sources and How To Unlock Their Rewards

• Killing NPCs or looting their dead bodies
• Killing specific bosses
• Found in the world

Killing NPCs or Looting Their Dead Bodies

If you kill certain NPCs, whether they attack you in the wild, you let your curiosity get the best of you, or they die as part of their quest, they will often drop Bell Bearings.
Moreover, if the NPC was also a merchant, anything they would have sold will appear at the Twin Maiden Husk shop, meaning you won’t lose access to unique spells, etc.

Killing Specific Bosses

Killing bosses, particularly in areas that are focused on Smithing, (like the Crystal Tunnel minidungeons in various areas) will reward Bell Bearings. These Bell Bearings will typically allow you to infinitely purchase the smithing stones that are available in those tunnels, but some unlock other things.

Found In The World

Several excellent Bell Bearings can be found on corpses around The Lands Between. If you see something shiny, be sure to pick it up!

Bell Bearing Locations and Unlocks

The following Bell Bearings will let you purchase various types of materials - some of which are used to craft different items, and although they are basic materials, they can be bought in bulk to make sure you never run out of the items to craft.

These bell bearings can only be obtained by defeating powerful Bell Bearing Hunters who appear in different regions in the Lands Between, always in place of a merchant at night time.

Bone Peddler’s Bell Bearing

• Unlocks: Thin Animal Bones, Hefty Beast Bones
• Found: West Limgrave - Defeat the Bell Bearing Hunter at the Warmaster's Shack (at night)

Meat Peddler’s Bell Bearing

• Unlocks: Sliver of Meat, Lump of Flesh, Turtle Neck Meat
• Found: East Liurnia - Defeat the Bell Bearing Hunter at the Church of Vows (at night)

Medicine Peddler’s Bell Bearing

• Unlocks: Neutralizing Boluses, Stanching Boluses, Thawfrost Boluses, Stimulating Boluses
• Found: Lenydell Capital Outskirts - Defeat the Bell Bearing Hunter at the Hermit Merchant's Shack (at night)

Gravity Stone Peddler’s Bell Bearing

• Unlocks: Gravity Stone Fan, Gravity Stone Chunk
• Found: Dragonbarrow - Defeat the Bell Bearing Hunter at the Isolated Merchant's Shack (at night)

The following Bell Bearings will let you purchase two types of bolstering materials - Smithing Stones and Somber Smithing Stones - used to increase the damage output and scaling in your primary weapons. You can also unlock various types of rocks.

These bell bearings are often found by defeating the powerful bosses of different mini dungeons.

Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing (1)

• Unlocks: Smithing Stone 1, Smithing Stone 2, Glintstone Scrap
• Found: East Liurnia, Defeat the Crystalian of the Raya Lucarian Crystal Tunnel

Smithing-Stone Miner's Bell Bearing (2)

• Unlocks: Smithing Stone 3, Smithing Stone 4, Explosive Stone
• Found: Lenydell Capital Outskirts, Found in a chest at the start of the Sealed Tunnel dungeon (past a illusory wall)

• Found: Mountaintops of the Giants, Found in a chest in the Zamor Ruins underground.

• Found: Crumbling Farum Azula, defeat the Godskin Duo Bosses

Somberstone Miner's Bell Bearing (1)

• Unlocks: Somber Smithing Stone 1, Somber Smithing Stone 2, Large Glintstone Scrap
• Found: Caelid, Defeat the Fallingstar Beast boss of the Sellia Crystal Tunnel dungeon.

Somberstone Miner's Bell Bearing (2)

• Unlocks: Somber Smithing Stone 3, Somber Smithing Stone 4
• Found: Altus Plateau, defeat the Crystalian bosses in the Altus Tunnel dungeon

Somberstone Miner's Bell Bearing (3)

• Unlocks: Somber Smithing Stone 5, Somber Smithing Stone 6
• Found: Mountaintops of the Giants, located at the First Church of Marika on a body

Somberstone Miner's Bell Bearing (4)

• Unlocks: Somber Smithing Stone 7, Somber Smithing Stone 8, Sanctuary Stone
• Found: Crumbling Farum Azula, inside the Tempest-Facing Balcony on a body

The following Bell Bearings will let you purchase two types of bolstering materials - Ghost Glovewort and Grave Glovewort - used to increase the damage output and general strength of your Spirit Ash Summons by using Roderika at the Roundtable Hold.

These bell bearings are often found by looting bodies hidden across the land.

Ghost-Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing (1)

• Unlocks: Ghost Glovewort 1, Ghost Glovewort 2, Ghost Glovewort 3
• Found: Nokron, Eternal City - located on a body at a stone gazebo past the site of grace.

Ghost-Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing (2)

• Unlocks: Ghost Glovewort 4, Ghost Glovewort 5, Ghost Glovewort 6
• Found: Nokstella, Eternal City - located in a chest along the buildings on the left as you head through the city above the river.

Ghost-Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing (3)

• Unlocks: Ghost Glovewort 7, Ghost Glovewort 8, Ghost Glovewort 9
• Found: Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree - found by the Haligtree Roots Site of Grace
