Our shelf-stable and refrigerated milks are made with the same organic milk from our partner farmers. The difference is that they’re pasteurized and packaged differently.
With UHT pasteurization and airtight, no-light packaging, our shelf-stable milks are safe to store at room temperature, so you can keep them in the pantry.
Of course, always use them by the best-by date and store them in the fridge after opening.

What is UHT pasteurization?
Heating milk to help eliminate bacteria is called pasteurization. For shelf-stable milk, we use UHT, or Ultra High Temperature, pasteurization. This process heats milk to a very high temperature for a few seconds, which destroys bacteria for a longer shelf life.
Special packaging
Shelf-stable milk is packaged in Tetra Pak® cartons* that lock in nutrition and lock out air and light. Follow the recycling instructions on pack–many recycled cartons get a second life as new products, such as roofing tiles, crates, carton boxes, and more.
