Is Vergil easier to play than Dante? ›

Vergil has a reputation of being broken in every game he's playable in for a reason, and DMC 5 is no exception. Sure you may not be able to pull stuff out like you could with Dante, but he's so much more accessible and doesn't require as much effort.

He is the elder twin brother of Dante and seems designed to be his opposite. serving as the arch-rival of both Dante and his own son, Nero. Despite usually acting as an antagonist, Vergil has, on rare occasions, assisted his own brother to take down an even tougher opponent, making him an anti-villian.

Vergil was originally portrayed as Nelo Angelo—Dante's rival in terms of moves and appearance—in the 2001 game.

In DmC: Devil May Cry, Vergil is a Nephilim just like Dante, meaning he's half Demon and half Angel. His origin for this game is that while his twin brother Dante was raised in a demon orphanage, in the dark gloomy slums of the city, Vergil was a privileged child adopted into a wealthy family.

All that said, the reason Vergil keeps on losing is that Dante is a far more skilled fighter. Even in Devil May Cry 5, the only reason Dante doesn't beat Vergil is because he had to fight all three of V's familiars beforehand. Dante is an all-around more adept fighter with better stamina and a keener ability to grow.

Playing as Vergil disables most of the cutscenes, including all of the ones that contain the game's plot. I would not play as him first, assuming that you can in the first place.

Results. Wiz: While Kratos is slightly stronger then Dante, Dante is easily faster. Boomstick: While Kratos dodges lightning Dante out paces it and Dante also reacts to lightning as well.

Dante is by far the strongest. Period. Vergil is number 2 and Nero is a solid number 3.

Despite this, Dante comes out on top every time they fight. Dante's natural talent, use of both his human and demon halves, and willingness to rely on others carries him over the finish line while Vergil falls short.

He was around 19 during the events of DMC3, and he must've gone to Fortuna years before that.

Not to forget, the plot of this game is a result of Vergil dying because of his torture and enslavement by Mundus, saved only by the qliphoth fruit. Dante is also put into a coma from Urizen thrashing him. TLDR, Dante and Vergil can be killed, but good luck trying.

In Devil May Cry 5, Vergil looks nearly identical to his younger self from the third game, but is older in appearance due to the passage of time. His coat is now black with light neon blue serpentine patterns and three separated coattails with slightly tattered edges.

Vergil's quest for power has led him at odds against with his family. Despite his autism boner for power, Vergil has been shown to be honorable, such as letting Dante recover from his injuries in order to have a fair fight, and moreso his desire for power stems from the time when he was unable to protect his family.

If you know how to use Vergil, he is definately the easiest to play, if you use all his stuff. Nero on the other hand is more straight forward. He has a couple gimmicks as well, but you can manage pretty nicely even without them.

A lot of Vergi's attacks are weaker than Dante's but to compensate, Vergil can constantly shoot Summoned Swords while attacking. Get a fast enough trigger finger and Vergil can do a little bit more than Dante. But Vergil has no single attack as strong as Dante's Real Impact so Dante>Vergil.

You should stop and play the story of Nero/V/Dante first. Vergil DLC is great but you'll be missing out on some good things if you spoil the game first. Specifically, the final boss for Vergil is quite a treat but won't mean anything unless you beat the story first.
