You just bought a security from the U.S. Treasury. Securities are generally issued to your account within two business days of the purchase date for savings bonds or within one week of the auction date for Bills, Notes, Bonds, FRNs, and TIPS.

If the bank information is unable to be verified on the 3rd attempt, a hold will be placed on your bank account and you will receive an email which includes information and a link to the Bank Change Request form (FS Form 5512).

Treasury Bills

Except for holidays or special circ*mstances, the offering is announced on Tuesday, the bills are auctioned on Thursday, and they are issued on the following Tuesday.

If the beneficiary has a TreasuryDirect account, the security will be transferred to that account. If the beneficiary does not have an account, he or she may establish an account. Alternatively, a beneficiary named on a savings bond may request redemption.
