If there's one thing Ree Drummond loves, it's flowers! In fact, she adores them so much that she even launched her own flower line at Walmart. There's no shortage of beautiful blooms on her family ranch, either, and one of her all-time favorites are the dreamy purple Oklahoma redbuds that blossom there every spring. "They’re gorgeous, simply gorgeous," she says. "And the fact that they’re one of the first things to bloom in Oklahoma in the springtime makes them stand out all the more."
Ree is certainly not the first to wax poetic about the beauty of her favorite blooms. There are so many lovely flower quotes that will inspire you and brighten your day, and we've rounded up some of the best ones right here. (Psst, these also make great spring quotes to celebrate the season!)
Many of the sayings on this list pay homage to the showstopping colors and scents of flowers, like these words from novelist and philosopher Iris Murdoch: "People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us." But others use flowers as a metaphor for a greater message about life or love. Take Sheryl Crow's words, for instance: "No matter how chaotic it is, wildflowers will still spring up in the middle of nowhere." No matter which kind of quote you're looking for, browsing through this list will definitely make you want to stop and smell the roses!
