Can you use SNAP on energy drinks? ›

If the item has a "Nutrition Facts" label, it is considered a food item by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and is eligible for purchase with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

Tea, too, is limited to packaged and unbrewed because the USDA doesn't allow SNAP funds to be used to buy any hot beverages.

According to USDA requirements, food items must be shipped and sold by Amazon.com, Amazon Fresh or fulfilled by Whole Foods Market to be eligible for purchase with SNAP EBT funds.
