Can I track a Western Union money order online? ›

If you sent the money in the Western Union app or online, you can check the status on your account's history page. If you purchased the money order in-store, you can visit the track-a-transfer page.

Yes. If your transfer isn't delivered within the window you were promised, you can request a trace on your transaction using the bank's SWIFT code. A SWIFT code is an ID that banks use when sending wire transfers. With this number, your bank can determine whether the deposit is on hold or in progress.

You can use the Western Union money order tracking service to track your Western Union money online. You will need the MTCN, or the sender's phone number, and the send or receive amount.

After registering with Western Union and sending money to a loved one, you will receive an online receipt to show that the transfer was approved and an e-mail with your Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). Once you have your 10-digit tracking number (MTCN), go to the Track a Transfer page and enter the number.

The MTCN or the tracking number can be used to track your transfer in just a few minutes. You can find the MTCN on your transfer receipt. You can also find it in your transfer History page. Please do not share your MTCN with anyone except your receiver or a Western Union representative.

The initial transfer may take up to five days pending Receiver registration, with subsequent transactions to the same Receiver bank Account number occurring within minutes.

The MTCN is valid for 72 hours after created. If funds are not received within 72 hours, the MTCN expires. You will be notified by email 24 hours before the MTCN expires. Please note that only one active MTCN is allowed per customer.
