Welcome to IGN's final section of the Tales of Arise walkthrough. After the discoveries made on Lenegis and your little chat with Revrekt-35, it's time to make your way to the final destination, the planet Rena. When you land on Rena, a few cutscenes will play out before you can take the teleporter. With this being the final stage of the game, there are several boss battles that take place here, and the enemy monsters prowling around are quite tough.

Rena is the very final dungeon of the game, so any Sub Quests you want to take care of, you should definitely do so now! Most importantly, if you care about New Game + carry over artes, items, etc., you'll need Artifacts to do it. Once you reach the final dungeon in Rena, it's worth searching for the Artifacts to unlock these New Game + carry over items. If you don't pick up these Artifacts, your New Game + data will not carry over artes, items, etc.

Once you land on Rena, watch the cutscenes and continue along the only path available. There are three teleport portals, but only one of them will work, and it will take you to the Upper Level 3F. There are a lot of big, bad enemies here and it's important to leave and heal as much as possible whenever the opportunity arises. Fast Travel is your friend if you're struggling to get through the enemies here.

Upper Level 3F

After taking the teleporter, the first room contains Grape Gel in the corner near the door to the next area. This door leads to a room that functions as an elevator. When you activate the elevator (using the control panel on the wall), enemies will drop on your team, and you have no choice but to fight them. Shionne is really great here since most of these monsters are flying. Once you clear the first wave of monsters, more will appear, just remain vigilant. Eventually, the elevator will come to a halt and the door will open. Walk through the door through to Upper Level 2F.

Upper Level 2F

The Upper Level 2F Corridor is a long stretch with a few rooms to the left that contain a few items. The only room on the left has a red Renan chest containing Canine Vest armor Equipment for Law. Leave this room and climb down the ladder in front of the door.

Fun fact: If you don't feel like fighting the enemies, just flee the battle. This applies to all enemies (with a few exceptions, of course!) in Rena. Even the ones guarding really important doors. They'll just disappear. Amazing.

The very first door on the left is the only way to reach the other side of the corridor. This next part of the map is Upper Level 2F, Zone 2. In the first room, Zeugles are guarding a blue Renan chest containing 23000 Gald. The hallway to the next room will spawn Helganquil x3 as you run through it. The Helganquil enemies attack much like the Red Woman did back on Lenegis Remember you can flee these enemies and they'll just disappear.

Through the hallway and to the left a thorn barrier is in the way that Alphen can destroy using his Blazing Sword map action. Beyond the barrier is a red Renan chest containing Holy Cloak armor Equipment for Rinwell. Now backtrack and pick up the mining ore to the left of the large enemy in front of the door; the Chrome Gazer. Remember the Venoflage boss back in Autelina Palace (Revisited)? Well, this enemy is just like that one, except it's weak to Rinwell's light astral artes. Beat it up and continue through the door to the other side of the The Upper Level 2F Corridor. There is a blue Renan chest containing a Heavy Treat before the door to the left that leads to The Upper Level 2F, Zone 3. Helganquil x4 enemies stand in the way of the hallway and a warp portal at the end that will take you to Upper Level 1F.

Upper Level 1F

Before beating up the huge zeugle in your way, the left room is blocked by a barrier that Alphen can destroy with the Blazing Sword map action. In the room is a red Renan chest containing the Lucky Bangle accessory. Now beat up the Rending Mantis in your way and proceed through the hallway it was guarding. The "!" icon on the map up ahead is another barrier that Alphen can destroy. It's blocking the way to a red Renan treasure chest containing Rare Plate armor Equipment for Kisara.

Across from this room is another huge enemy, Polycontrus, guarding the next path forward. Fight or flee, examine the mining point to the left, and run down the corridor to find another big zeugle blocking your path to a red Renan chest. Defeat it and open the red Renan Chest containing Elemental Cape for Dohalim. You cannot flee from the next set of enemies in your path, Chrome Gazer x1 and Helganquil x2. Beat them up and press on to find a Healing Light and a door to the next area. There's a boss battle ahead.

Boss Battle: Valclynimus

There's really nothing special about this boss at all. Valclynimus is weak to Rinwell's light astral artes (specifically, Holy Lance and Divine Streak). This boss doesn't jump or move around much at all, making it super easy to stagger and rack up the Combo points, so just pummel it into oblivion with artes and basic attacks.

This is a great battle to rack up your Combo hits! I reached a 179 Combo easy.

Watch the cut scene and go to the right of the door up ahead to find a Pineapple Gel on the floor. There isn't anything on the other side of the door, so when you're ready proceed through the door to the Inversion Room with another warp portal that will take you to the Inversion Room - Tarfhal Helgarahi. Keep proceeding through the doors ahead of you and eventually you'll find a fast travel point with a teleportal on the floor in front of you. This teleporter will take you to the entrance. If you want to leave the area to heal up, now's the time to do it. You don't have to take the teleporter, just open your map and fast travel where ever you like. There's a bunch of cool new weapons that the Blacksmith can craft now. To get back to Rena, open your map and select Rena and Tarfhal Helgarahi to get back to the room you left with the teleporter.

Proceed where you left off through the door at the end, to the Lower Level 1F.

Lower Level 1F

Everything seems to be flipped upside down, so it reflects the same layout as the Upper Level 1F map from earlier. Follow the only path forward to trigger a cutscene. Just like in the Upper Level 1F Corridor, the only way to get to the other side is through a separate room to the left. Grab the Pineapple Gel first and proceed to the next room.

Starting from the location of the map in the image shown above, there's a "!" barrier up ahead that can be destroyed with Alphen's map action. A red Renan chest in the room contains the Faerie Ring accessory.

Backtrack and take the path left. This dead end will lead you to a room with a red Renan chest guarded by enemies Astral Sloth x2, Astral Fury x1, and Astral Hatred x1. You have to defeat them to open the red Renan chest they're guarding, but it's worth it if you want the Mystic Crest accessory. Now backtrack a bit and head to the next location marked on the map as "???" (there's an Orange Gel to the right of the door!). This new door will lead to another room with an elevator, and you'll have to defeat the enemies that appear just like last time.

Once the elevator stops, walk through the door you'll be in the Lower Level 2F Corridor.

Lower Level 2F Corridor

To the left of the entrance is a blue Renan chest containing Elixir. Go through the first door on your right to reach Lower Level 2F, Zone 1. There's a red Renan chest containing the Stamina Ring accessory in this room. Leave this room and approach the ladder in the Lower Level 2F Corridor. Climb up the ladder and through the doors to Lower Level 2F, Zone 2.

There's a mining point in this room and another room nearby has several mining points with a lot of rare ore that you probably don't have yet (in the map shown above, you will see a room with several mining points). Run to the Lower Level 2F Corridor to reach the other side of the corridor and watch the cutscene as you approach the yellow story marker. Continue along to reach the Lower Level 2F, Zone 3. There's a barrier in your way that Alphen can destroy, and beyond lies a blue Renan chest containing Omega Elixir. Up ahead is a dragon guarding the way to a teleporter that will take you to the Lower Level 3F Corridor. It's a simple linear path, so continue along to the door that leads to the Lower Level 3F, Zone 2 area, another linear area. There are a few mining points along the way. Exit the door and continue along. Eventually, you'll reach the Astral Energy Convergence Zone.

Astral Energy Convergence Zone

Okay. This is it. This is the very last room before the end. Are you ready? The teleporters in this room lead to a few Special Bosses with some really cool equipment. Additionally, now's your chance to pick up any Artifacts that will help you out in the New Game + mode once you've completed the game. There isn't a Healing Light in this room.

When you're ready, approach the yellow story marker. A lot of cutscenes will unfold, and several boss battles are ahead.

Boss Battle: Great Astral Spirit

Any kind of accessory that resists artes is effective here, especially the Magic Emblem accessory that can be enhanced to resist all of the elements. The Great Astral Spirit is weak to light artes, so Rinwell's Holy Lance and Divine Streak is super useful here. The enemy doesn't jump, but it will stomp across the battle field. Once you drop it to 3/4 of it's health bar, it will begin teleporting and summoning a dark arte that will follow the target around the battlefield for a few pulses. Keep running to avoid it, and avoid coming into contact with the rest of your party, you don't want to acidentally hit them with this.

At half health, it will summon a few orbs of varying elements. Destroy these as quickly as possible! The Great Astral Spirit will use them for a massive spell if they're kept alive. These orbs will summon astral artes too, and you should use Rinwell's battle action to prevent the spells from being casted.

Once you pummel it to 0, a few cutscenes appear, and it will summon monsters that you have to defeat first before you can approach it again. There's nothing special about these; you've probably encountered them at some point in Rena before now. Defeat the summoned monsters and approach the Great Astral Spirit again.

Boss Battle: Subsumer

Subsumer is basically just the evolved form of the Great Astral Spirit, but this time with two arms to destroy! Nice. Both are weak to light astral artes, so you know the drill. Focus one and then the other.

Subsumer will slam the battlefield with it's fists, and it will summon the dark astral artes that follow you around the battlefield, just like the previous form did. Just hop around to avoid it. Once you knock out both of the arms, you can begin attacking the main body. It will summon a dark astral arte called Black Hole: a really huge gap in the middle of the battlefield will open and suck you in. Hop and avoid the center of the battlefield as much as you can. Just keep whittling down its health bar and eventually it will summon more of the orbs like before. Fight them off but focus on the main body. Once the health bar reaches 0, several cut scenes will unfold, and our favorite Sovereign has returned in all of his glory.

The Final Boss Battle: Vholran Igniseri

You'll have to fight this battle alone with just Alphen. Luckily, if you fail, you won't have to start over. He'll summon several artes of varying elements. Dodge his spells until he creates an opening (Vholran will kneel to the ground), and then strike. This battle will mostly test how good you are at dodging. Eventually, a short cut scene will appear, and you'll battle him with your very own Sovereign powers. That makes it a little easier, but not much. Don't worry though, if you reach 0 health, you can just keep fighting. The battle won't end when Alphen is in the Sovereign form. Alphen's health bar will go away once you reach 0 health, and avoiding Vholran's feeble attempts to attack you won't even matter anymore, so just keep pummeling Vholran until he reaches 0 HP. A lot of cutscenes will follow. Congratulations, you've cleared Tales of Arise!
