Lord Radagon was a great champion, possessed of flowing red locks. He came to these lands at the head of a great golden host, when he met Lady Rennala in battle. He soon repented his territorial aggressions though, and became husband to the Carian Queen. However, when Godfrey, the first Elden Lord, was hounded from the Lands Between, Radagon left Rennala to return to the Erdtree Capital, becoming Queen Marika's second husband and King Consort. Taking the title of second Elden Lord.

Personality[]

Much of Radagon's true nature remains in mystery, but he appeared to be an individual that was highly devoted to his role as Elden Lord. Unlike Queen Marika, Radagon was very loyal to the Golden Order, so much that when the Elden Ring was shattered, he immediately tried to repair it to ensure order was maintained. Because of his complete loyalty, this led Marika to describe him as a "leal hound" to the Golden Order. Unfortunately, this very loyalty would in turn destroy his marriage with Rennala when he left her, in spite of having formed peace and started a family with her.

Much like his predecessor, Radagon was a barbaric warlord that waged war in the name of the Golden Order. While he was primarily known for being a warrior, his usage in magic suggested he was well versed and familiar with sorcery, likely having learned from Queen Rennala. Interestingly, according to the description of the Giant's Red Braid, Radagon was said to despise his own locks of red hair, despite it having heroic traits. He seems to care for his son Miquella, as when the young Empyrean gifted his father with fundamental incantations he created, Radagon would in turn give him his own gift of gratitude.

Biography[]

Background[]

Radagon was the male half of the goddess Marika. During the Liurnian Wars, Radagon led the armies of the Erdtree against the Carian lands of Liurnia. During this, he meets Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon on the battlefield. Despite their initial conflict, Radagon eventually repents his territorial ambitions at the Church of Vows, where he would later marry Queen Rennala.

Sometime in their marriage, she gifts him a red wolf as well as a Greatsword as per Carian tradition. During this time, Radagon studied Glintstone sorcery in order to be a more complete hero. From their marriage, Radagon and Rennala would bear Radahn, Rykard, and Ranni.

Following the exile of Marika's first consort Godfrey, Radagon returned to the royal capital of Leyndell and married Queen Marika, becoming the second Elden Lord. As a parting gift, prior to his departure, Radagon gifted Rennala an amber egg containing the Great Rune of the Unborn, which she would come to worship as she was driven to insanity. Marika and Radagon would bear together the twins Malenia and Miquella. However, as they were born from the union of a single god, both were born cursed: Miquella with eternal childhood, and Malenia with Rot within her own body.

During his childhood, Miquella would study the fundamentalism of the Golden Order and create new incantations, which he would give to his father as gifts. Radagon, in turn, would gift Miquella with his own incantation as a sign of gratitude. Radagon also attempted to forge his Greatsword from Rennala into the Golden Order Greatsword, showing his devotion to the Golden Order over his marriage to Rennala.

Following the Night of the Black Knives, in which Godwyn the Golden was slain, Marika was driven to the brink, in which she shattered the Elden Ring. Before this, however, Marika tells Radagon that though he is her other self, he has yet to become her, a god, and that they would both be shattered together. After Marika shattered the Elden Ring, Radagon, still loyal to the Golden Order, attempted to repair it with Marika's hammer, but failed. As punishment for betraying the Golden Order, Marika and Radagon would both be imprisoned inside the Erdtree, sharing the same body.

Elden Ring[]

After the Tarnished burns the Erdtree and enter its trunk, Marika is freed from her imprisonment. However, Radagon takes over their shared body and, wielding Marika's hammer, engages the Tarnished in battle to stop them from becoming Elden Lord (or ushering in a new Order, depending on their choices). After his defeat, the Elden Ring reverts to its original form, the Elden Beast, and transforms Radagon and Marika's body into the Sacred Relic Sword before battling the Tarnished for the fate of the Lands Between. Following its defeat, Radagon's body reverts back to Marika and lays fractured.

If the Tarnished chooses to become Elden Lord, they restore Marika and mend the Elden Ring. Marika's exact fate at this point is unknown, and it is unclear if Radagon is returned as well. If the Tarnished chooses to become Ranni's consort for the Age of the Stars or to become the Lord of Frenzied Flame, Marika's body disappears, and it can be assumed that both Radagon and Marika are completely deceased.
