How much crit rate is considered good for late game?

Are there any "crit rate standards" for different characters? e.g I'd understand for childe to need more crit rate because of riptide and nuke, but what about for characters who attack more consistently and every hit deals similar damage (itto, xiao, etc)?

Is 55% rate acceptable for vape yoimiya? (the 55 includes her ascension bonus) getting pulse would mean 240 cd but 55 rate, but i cant really change a hat rn so i wonder if it's fine to keep it this way

In my eyes, anywhere above 50% crit rate is really good, cuz ur gonna be getting crits more than half the time

Personally I aim for 60-80% CR, although it depends a lot on the weapon choice and external crit buffs.

Less isn't the end of the world. My Yoimiya's crit ratio is also botched (57/191) and she still does fine. You can always farm a good CR circlet later.

Characters who attack consistently and deal similar damage require higher crit rate (at least in my personal experiences as a former Xiao main). 70% is the MINIMUM and it'd do you good to get even more.

Characters who attacks a lot and every hit deals different damage can get away with less. 50-60% is nowhere ideal, but you could get away with it. But 70%+ will still do you a lot of good.

Crit rate standards depends on the person you talk to though. People who like seeing bigger numbers can be seen running ratios such as 50/200, while people who like to be consistent can be seen running things like 80/160.

Personally I like to be more consistent (at LEAST above 50%) because my old Xiao build had 50% crit rate and he crit once in a blue moon and it was atrocious- but I also like seeing a good 200% crit dmg on my chars every now and then.

For a crit-based main dps, I always aim for a 70:200 ratio, with subs I tend to be a little less picky with the ratio, as long as it’s at the very least 50:100.

Eula mains after spending 3 hours crit fishing only to realize that their food buff ran out.

Ideally you'd want a 70%+ crit rate on most characters.

Not me looking at this as a kokomi main-

I say 55% is perfectly fine.

I tend to aim for 60%+

...there are different crit rate standards for characters, but I wouldn't say the community has really looked into that.

Ultimately, a character doing most of their damage through transformative reactions won't be as reliant on crit. Likewise, an archer fighting mobs with a weak point via charged attacks (except units like Ganyu) may forgo crit because weak point guarantee critical hits. Then there are characters like Keqing who buffs her crit rate after using her burst so she can operate at a slightly lower crit rate than others. For amplifying reaction teams though, you can benefit more from higher crit. (But I don't have Yoimiya to say for sure how she reacts.)

E.g., if you deal 5000 dmg and crit it for *2 and then deal a second hit for 5000 dmg that vapes for *1.5 dmg, this would mean you dealt 17,500dmg. However, if you dealt 5000 dmg and vaped your crit, you'd deal 20,000dmg. (Thus why it can be important to be able to depend on your crits being more reliable when using amplifiying reactions.)

Crit damage is the highest damage you can do with attacks, so if you had 100% crit rate, you would constantly do your highest damage. It is not very normal to have 100% crit rate but it would be better to have a 55% or more to occasionally crit.

The Highest Crit Rate possible without food buffs so far is 127.4%. Honestly, I expected more, and I'm kind of convinced that I either forgot something or did the math wrong. Also, please note that in gameplay you can't go above 99.3% crit rate.

Who has the highest ATK in Genshin? ›

1 Xiao (27/349)

Frankly, many looking at Xiao may question whether he is a heavy hitter or not. However, based on damage alone, Xiao most certainly qualifies as a heavy hitter (should the player avoid a few major mistakes) — Xiao has the highest base attack in Genshin Impact.

Is 40% CRIT Rate good? ›

The 2:1 rule is simply a recommendation that takes ease of building into account. It is rather easy to build characters to have 40% crit. It is extremely hard to get lucky enough rolls to get 80% crit. You need attack - otherwise your criticals don't hit hard.
