Pokémon Legends: Arceus: How To Catch Shaymin (1)

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the latest adventure in the Pokémon franchise, this time bringing with it a whole new open world, new catching mechanics and more.

While the deep mysteries of Hisui, and which Pokémon you’re going to encounter, are left for you to solve, there are a few quests that you might need a bit of help with, including how to catch certain Pokémon — Shaymin is one of them.

How to catch Shaymin in Pokémon Legends Arceus

In order to catch Shaymin, you’ll actually need an entirely different game.

If you have save data from Pokémon Sword and Shield on your Switch, after you’ve finished the game, you can consult the message board in the Galaxy building, and you’ll be offered a quest to catch Shaymin

Head to the area on the map, and you’ll be greeted by a character that asks you to find a field where a Pokémon once helped her. Head to the Floaro Gardens and a cutscene will play revealing Shaymin.

Shaymin is fast, but not too difficult to catch. It does have a tendency to run away, but don’t worry, simply return to Jubilife Village and then head back to the Floaro Gardens and it’ll reappear.

It’s level 70 and is a grass type, so come prepared. Shaymin doesn’t count towards the Pokédex total, so even if you don’t have Sword or Shield, you can still complete Pokémon Legends: Arceus' final quest.
