Parsley - AH Juice (2024)

Parsley - AH Juice (1)

Parsley is a pretty little Mediterranean herb that is often used to add a little color to your plate. But having been around for more than 2000 years, it is valuable as much more than a garnish. The plant is another herb AH Juice uses every day because of its strong nutritional profile and healing properties:

Parsley helps in the fight against cancer. The myristicin, an organic compound found in parsley, inhibits tumor formation and activates an enzyme which helps the molecule glutathione attach to, and fight against, oxidized molecules. Myristicin can also neutralize carcinogens, helping to fight against colon and prostate cancer. Parsley is rich with an antioxidant arsenal that includes luteolin, a flavonoid that searches out and eradicates free radicals in the body that cause oxidative stress in cells.

Parsley helps control blood pressure. The folic acid in the herb acts as a tonic for your heart, neutralizing the amino acid, hom*ocysteine which can threaten the blood vessels when levels become too high.

Parsley is anti-inflammatory. The herb will relieve joint pain and combat the onset of inflammatory disorders, such as osteoarthritis (the degeneration of joint cartilage and the underlying bone) and rheumatoid arthritis (a disease causing inflammation in the joints).

Parsley is rich in vitamins. Containing Vitamins C, B12, K and A, parsley helps keep your immune system strong, strengthens the bones and heals the nervous system.
