Pager Codes (2024)

Pager Codes (1)

Start with a "top level" digit:

  1. Person
  2. Place
  3. Thing/Object
  4. Date/time
  5. Action
  6. Event
  7. Amount
  8. Questions
  9. Urgency

then follow with lables for the most important members of each group toyou.

Numbering from 1 makes 91 a code for very urgent and you can use 911 as lifeor death.

So most likely 11 is you. 12 your wife. 13 first born, and so on. 21is home, 22 is work, 23... church? whatever... 31 is your car? 32 is yourcomputer? 41 is now (see below for more), 51 is Going or Go, 52 is Get orPick up, etc... 61 is dead thru injured thru ok thru born depending on the9 level. e.g. 11-61-91 is I'm dead. (11-61-911 is I'm actually dying). 62is mariage to divorce. Questions (8x) are, of course, who, what, why, where, when, how (much)

Date / time is just the digits of the date and time. Start with minutes, then add hours, days, to the left (just after the 4). E.g. 420 is 20 minutesafter this hour. 41530 is 3:30 in the afternoon (I like 24 hour time, figuresomething else out if you don't) today, 425-- is anytime on the 25th of thismonth. 4050110- is sometime around 10am on the first of June.

There is a "short form" that you can use if you like that depends on theorder: e.g. I'm driving home is -11111. The leading - (dial a #) is the quethat it's shorthand and then each following digit is actually the seconddigit of a code that counts by ten for each one. The long form is 11-21-31-41-51,"Me - Home - Car - One Minute - Moving" and you can switch back and forth.e.g. -21412-91 might be "Honey, don't forget to bring home more beer!" Use0 to skip an item or indicate that it isn't important: -01402 "Will anyoneever bring home some beer?"

Pager Coding Tips

Set up personal codes for a constant reference to the personal ID code numbersof people who will be paging you.

When paging someone with your pager codes, it is very important to alwayspunch in your code first. This will notify the person you are paging whothe message is from.

It is recommended that you write down your message followed by the correspondingcodes before calling the pager. Reason: some paging companies give a limitedtime to punch in your code, so there is not enough time to flip around tryingto find the proper code you need from your pager codes.

The Star* key should always be used to separate each individual code. Example:12*207*322*509* = 12-207-322-509

When entering a phone number, do not separate the numbers with the Star*key. This will make the phone number look like a code. Example: WRONG:555-555-5555 /RIGHT: 5555555555

Coding Examples:

(If Your Code is: 12...)

MESSAGE: You left your wallet.

CODE: 12-109-430 (Your Code-Forgot/Left Behind-Wallet/Purse

MESSAGE: I am running late, stuck in traffic.

CODE: 12-215-216 (Your Code-running Late-Stuck in Traffic)

MESSAGE: Pick up John (His Code) at the soccer game in 2 hours.

CODE: 12-117-14-328-2-505 (Your Code-Pick Up-John-Sport Activity-2-Hours)
