I learned this trick from a friend a while back, and now all of my fresh flower arrangements last days and even weeks longer than the water & packet of flower food. Why does Sprite make flower arrangement last longer? Sprite makes the water more acidic, which means it can travel up the stem of the flower more quickly. Also, the sugar serves as food for the flower.
