Pre-Apocalypse[]

Not much is known about June save that she attends Parker Middle School where fellow students Quint Baker, Dirk Savage and Jack Sullivan also attended. Strongly mentioned and said in the books, June's dream was to become an journalist and reporter, shown by her hard-work at the school's newspaper editing, where Jack attempted (during his time there) to impress her with photography.

Post-Apocalypse[]

What happened on the morning of the Apocalypse was June arriving at school when wormholes suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the sky, dropping monsters and plagues. Jack Sullivan, who was also present, warned her in time to avoid a zombie approaching from behind, running for cover in the school's entrance, locking the doors but not before making eye contact with Jack (which will remind him of her last known location). Awhile later, surviving groups are put onto buses for safety evacuation by military personnel; including June's parents, who managed to get a glimpse of her on the school rooftop for the very last time before departure.

Since the apocalypse has started, June barricaded herself inside her classroom, taking food from the cafeteria (and occasional venturing outside the school), and keeping the doors of her classroom locked to prevent the zombified attenders there. Her hard work is undone however by the arrival of Jack, Quint, and Dirk, who were led by Jack in rescuing his "damsel-in-distress" forcing her to open her classroom door to save them from the encroaching ball full of zombies.

She scolds the dazed boys while a stunned but overjoyed Jack tried to tell her his reason for being there. Some of the undead break through the doors, one of which grabs Sullivan's leg. June awes them by knocking them away with her reflex and athleticism, telling the trio to follow her to the other side of the school as the zombies begin piling in the doorway. She agrees to join the rest of them later on and shares her fear of losing her parents to Jack on the roof. She agrees to join the gang and head towards the treehouse at dawn. She helps the rest of them defeat Blarg towards the end of the episode.

Season 2 / book 2[]

She is shown running away from the Wormungulous with everyone else at the start of the book and after Thrull opens the store gates and pushes everyone inside, she is shown to trust him. They help him get to his home, Joe’s Pizza. After the visit she says she danced with a monster but its implied that she mistook a fight for dancing. She is also shown teasing Jack Sullivan when he is caught by Quint Baker's Zombie trap and hanged upside down via a rope on his foot. She's also very disturbed by Quint's "June bait" (a stuffed version of a human made to attract Zombies into a cage) due to it wearing some of her old clothes and looking like her (even though jack notes the resemblance is slim) and starts shouting and freaking out when she returns from Joes pizza and sees Alfred (though he was just caught and not named yet) chewing on "...a stuffed version of me..." and that it's "...Freaking me out...".

Netflix series Version:[]

N/A (TBA)

Physical Appearance[]

June has light brown skin, wavy dark brown hair tied in a ponytail, freckles, and medium brown eyes. She is the shortest of the group with close comparison in height with Quint, and has a athletically slim physique. Her typical outfit, which she is seen wearing outdoors and indoors, consists of a white undershirt, a light turquoise shirt, a dark blue hoodie, black jeans, fingerless gloves on both hands with a spiked bracelet on one wrist and teal trainers.

Relationships[]

Jack Sullivan[]

Before the apocalypse, June explains in her solo book that she did notice that Jack had a crush on her, it was very obvious. She doesn't mention anything about her having a crush on him back, however. But in the TV show, she is shown to have some romantic feelings for Jack, whilst also maintaining a somewhat platonic relationship with him.

Dirk Savage[]

Dirk and June weren't shown to interact before the apocalypse, so they probably weren't close or didn't know each other that well, apart from knowing that each other existed. After the apocalypse, they seem to be good friends in the first book, and in the second book's TV show counterpart they find out they have lots of stuff in common (to the point where it becomes freaky) and start finishing each other's sentences. This quickly diminishes, however.

Quint Baker[]

Before the apocalypse, they weren't shown to be friends as such, however, Quint always used to be the one passing notes or messages about Jack's crush on June to her. After the apocalypse, Quint and June are shown, whilst arguing from time to time, to be close to best friends.

Personality[]

June can come off as rude, brash, and sarcastic at times, but mostly towards Quint, Dirk and Jack (predominantly the latter). She is also a perfectionist and may act like a know-it-all, but this mostly comes from being an achiever in school. During fun though, she is competitively easygoing and chill, but also friendly. However, when it comes to finding her parents June will make selfish decisions that might inconvenience her friends, though will make up for it afterwards.

Weapons and Abilities[]

The Gift[]

After Jack saw how much June wanted a weapon that she really loved like he did the Louisville Slicer, he built - with the help of Quint and Dirk - a multi-use gauntlet for Christmas. The Gift was named by Jack, but Globlet helped June rename it in her solo book "Thing-A-Ma-Blasty", or Blasty for short, albeit by Boss Rifter's own term (which is more accurate) is called the Multi-Hand.

Trivia[]

  • In the books, so far, June seemingly never returned Jack's romantic feelings. However, in the web series' 6th episode of Season 2: "Stay on Target", it is revealed she does like him, which both Dirk and Quint take an amusing approach at.
  • Both her and Jack are the only characters whose names start with the same letter (J).
  • In the books, it is said that she spoke Spanish at home. However, in the show, she sounds more prolific in English with no accent, except when she says Spanish words, such as her own last name or 'pinata'.
  • In the books, her hoodie was red.
