Once I saw that it is absolutely possible to earn money from Pinterest, I became obsessed. I wanted to learn everything I could about making money with Pinterest.

That’s right – you can make money pinning on Pinterest without a blog!
I’ve been making money pinning on Pinterest since 2017 and I still use those same strategies today in 2021.
And now I am going to teach you how to make money on Pinterest.
PINTEREST STRATEGY
When I first started using Pinterest years ago, I didn’t have a Pinterest Strategy. I would open the Pinterest App and search for new ideas and inspiration.
At the time, I had no idea it was possible to strategically use Pinterest to generate an income.
Once I learned it was possible to make money pinning on Pinterest, I studied Pinterest. I wanted to learn everything I could about Pinterest so I could make as much money as possible.
Pinterest is constantly changing their algorithms so I have always made sure to stay up to date with all of the changes Pinterest makes. So I know what works, what doesn’t work, and what is a complete waste of time.
By learning everything I can about Pinterest, I was able to develop a Pinterest Marketing Strategy so I could use Pinterest strategically and maximize my earnings.
The secret to making money on Pinterest
Affiliate Marketing allows you to earn money through promoting and/or referring a product or service. If someone purchases the item through your affiliate link, the affiliate company will pay you commission.
Think about it – have you ever found a product or service that you love and you tell everyone you know about it because it’s amazing? Has any of your friends or family followed through with your suggestion just because you loved it?
Now imagine if those companies paid you commission for your referrals.
That’s Affiliate Marketing!
If you are an affiliate for a company, you can earn money for referring paying customers.
Most bloggers use affiliate marketing with their blog to generate money.
But many people (including bloggers) don’t realize you can use Affiliate Marketing with Pinterest.
Pinterest Affiliate Marketing
When you are an affiliate for a company, the company will provide you with your own referral link or also known as an affiliate link.
The affiliate company will track your link. They’ll be able to see how many people clicked your link and what they purchased through your link.
Pinterest allows you to use affiliate links on your Pinterest Pins. so when you create a new Pin for Pinterest, you list your affiliate link as the Pin URL.
Once the Pin is published to Pinterest, other Pinterest users will see your pin. If they like what they see, they will click your Pin and go to the retailers website.
If they purchase something, you can get paid commission since they went to the retailers website through your affiliate link.
Even if they purchase something other than what your link was for your – you can still earn commission.
To make it even sweeter – if they purchase days later, you could still earn money (as you long as your affiliate link was the last affiliate link they clicked). Some affiliate companies cookie windows are 24 hours while others could be more than 30 day!
That is Pinterest Affiliate Marketing.
How To Get Pinterest Affiliate Links
In order to get Pinterest Affiliate Links, you will need to sign up to be an affiliate to your favorite brand(s).
There are thousands of companies that participate in affiliate marketing that almost every niche can use Pinterest Affiliate Marketing.

Affiliate Marketing Rules
Before you jump in and start making affiliate pins for Pinterest, there are a few things you need to be aware of.
Affiliate Link Disclosures
Before you add any affiliate links to Pinterest (or your blog, or any of your social platform of choice) you must make sure you disclose that the link is an affiliate link.
The FTC has made regulations requiring you to disclose this information.
It is very easy to disclose your affiliate link on Pinterest. On your Pinterest Pins that have an affiliate URL, you will need to list in your description that the pin is an affiliate link. All you need to do is write Affiliate or #affiliate or #ad to the description.
If you follow any celebrities you’ll notice when they promote a product or service on their social platforms, they’ll often write #ad. This way their followers know they are getting paid to promote the product or server.
If you don’t disclose the affiliate link then the FTC can impose some hefty fines. The FTC will go after anyone (not just celebrities) – so always disclose your Pinterest Affiliate Links.
Read your Affiliate Programs Terms
When you join an Affiliate Program, make sure you read and understand the terms. You will find valuable information noted in the term such as:
- Cookie windows: This is how long your affiliate link is valid for after someone clicks on your link.
- Commission: The terms will note the commission plan and how you will be paid and when.
- Where you can post: Some affiliate programs will note in the terms where you can and cannot post affiliate links.
How to Make Money Pinning On Pinterest
It is absolutely possible to earn money through pinning on Pinterest. I’ve been using Pinterest Affiliate Marketing since 2017 and I still use it today in 2020.
When I first started using Affiliate Marketing with Pinterest, I didn’t have a blog. I was able to make money from Pinning on Pinterest.
If you do have a blog or if you are thinking about starting a blog, you can also list your affiliate links on your blog. A blog will help to increase your profits, but a blog is not required to make money with Pinterest.
