- Once a flower is incorporated in a corsage or boutonniere, it can no longer take up water, so do not set them in water.
- Keep the flowers out of sunlight and heat. This is critical with white roses, as periods of warmth will brown them. Heat stimulates the flower to "open" and spread its petals, which leads to quicker wilting.
- Remove any strong odor sources, such as garlic or onion, from the fridge ahead of time - these contribute to accelerated wilting. It isn't a bad idea to put the corsage/boutonniere box in a plastic bag or two if these odors have not dissipated.
- Put the flowers in the refrigerator as soon as possible and leave them there right up until you need them.
- We recommend going straight home from our shop. Your corsage will not be okay to wait in the car while you are at ahair appointment!
- If your flowers must last in the fridge longer than 12 hours, it can be helpful to spray them lightly with water. Under the given conditions, they can last a few days in the fridge. Once the corsage or boutonniere has been worn for an event (or been out of the fridge for a few hours), it will not keep.
