The Help Wanted Newspaper[]

Help Wanted (2)

The Help Wanted cases come to Orchid Island as newspaper ads in The Challenger, which always seems to be the current weekday's Edition of 1927.

There are three Help Wanted cases available at he same time: the first slot from the right is always an easy case, the second slot is a medium case and the third slot is a hard case. The harder the case the higher the reward.

Challenger Prize[]

The Challenger Prize is usually one 5-Star Box, though there used to be different rewards like compasses, too. The Prize can be earned by collecting a certain amount of bottle caps, usually 82. These bottle caps can be earned by solving cases. There is a progress bar at the top of the Help Wanted newspaper tracking the amount of bottle caps already collected. Once the goal amount is reached and the Prize awarded the progress bar will reset with any overspill of bottle caps carrying over and it starts over. For how many bottle caps a case provides, see the Rewards section below.

Flash Bonus[]

The Flash Bonus is a time-limited booster that activates randomly and is active for only 15 to 45 minutes. The Flash Bonus adds an extra reward to the Challenger Prize, for example a second 5-Star Box. So if the goal amount of bottle caps is reached while the Flash Bonus is active, the player will be awarded the Challenger Prize and the Flash Bonus reward.

Rewards[]

Solving a case will always award the player with bottle caps for the Challenger Prize and with either coins, energy or occasionally diamonds. Sometimes there will be a booster event happening, that lasts for half a day or a full day, during which an inrceased amount of bottle caps is rewarded for solved cases.

When a Detective League is active a solved case will also provide League Points and when a Detectives Needed event is active the cases may provide varying amounts of Winding Keys contributing towards the event goal.

Receiving new cases[]

After completing a Help Wanted case, a timer starts to count down for when there will be a new case in that slot. For the first case slot it, takes 3 hours, for the second slot it takes 8 hours and for the third slot it takes 16 hours. That timer can be skipped when the player watches an ad.

If desired one case can be swapped for a random, different case by clicking the red icon in the upper right corner of the case. One swap is free within 24 hours. Each more swap costs an increasing amount of diamonds, The second swap costs 6 diamonds, the third 12 diamonds and after that all swaps cost 24 diamonds.

Old Cases[]

Some cases have been removed from the game, such as;

  • Beat Jack Hayes on the leaderboard. To complete this task, earn more points in any scene than Jack Hayes. In order to track your progress, check the leaderboard when it appears on the screen.
  • Remove ribbons from decorations or buildings. To complete this task, you need to place a new decoration on the island and wait for the completion of construction. You can also complete this task by upgrading buildings or repairing sights. The return of items from the store is also counted. You will understand that the item is suitable for the task when a red ribbon appears on it.

Tips on completing cases[]

If you want to prepare to complete a lot of cases in a certain time frame like an event, you may want to:

  • Save 3 Bushes
  • Save some blue and pink Star Boxes
  • Don't collect tips in the café immediately, just leave them, they will accumulate until you tap on the tip jar.
  • Only unwrap newly finished decorations when you need the flowers,
  • Maybe don't collect the coins from the Estate immediately. It only reaches capacity after 10 hours.

As a seasoned enthusiast deeply immersed in the intricate world of Orchid Island and its captivating mysteries, let me assure you that my knowledge spans the breadth and depth of the Help Wanted cases, an integral aspect of the game that unfolds after the completion of Chapter 4. Now, let's delve into the nuances of this gaming realm, substantiating my expertise with a detailed breakdown of the concepts mentioned in the provided article.

Help Wanted Cases Overview: Help Wanted cases are enticing tasks that beckon players to embark on thrilling adventures, promising rewards that amplify the gaming experience. These cases become accessible on the Orchid Island screen post the completion of Chapter 4 and are conveniently housed in the Document Folder.

The Help Wanted Newspaper: The gateway to these intriguing cases is The Challenger, a newspaper that graces Orchid Island with Help Wanted ads. These ads, disguised as newspaper articles, set the stage for players to immerse themselves in the unfolding mysteries of 1927, offering a diverse range of cases.

Challenger Prize: The Challenger Prize, a coveted reward, typically comprises a 5-Star Box. However, the historical evolution of rewards includes variations like compasses. To secure this prize, players must amass a specific number of bottle caps, usually set at 82, achieved by successfully solving cases.

Flash Bonus: Adding an element of unpredictability, the Flash Bonus is a time-limited booster that injects excitement into the gameplay. Active for a fleeting 15 to 45 minutes, it supplements the Challenger Prize with an extra reward, such as a second 5-Star Box.

Rewards: Solving a case is not only a triumph but a gateway to a treasure trove of rewards. Bottle caps contribute to the Challenger Prize, while coins, energy, and occasionally diamonds enhance the bounty. Booster events amplify the stakes, offering increased bottle caps during specific durations.

Receiving New Cases: Upon completing a Help Wanted case, a countdown timer initiates for the arrival of a new case in the respective slot. Timers vary - 3 hours for the first slot, 8 hours for the second, and 16 hours for the third. Ad-watching provides a shortcut to skip the wait.

List of Cases: Diverse tasks await players, distributed across three slots. From serving drinks to playing Hidden Object Scenes, each case presents unique challenges, with higher slots demanding greater efforts.

Old Cases: The evolution of the game is evident in the retirement of some cases, such as beating Jack Hayes on the leaderboard or removing ribbons from decorations. These cases, once part of the gaming landscape, have made way for newer challenges.

Tips on Completing Cases: Strategic gameplay is key, and these tips offer players a roadmap to success. From saving bushes and star boxes to delaying coin collection, meticulous planning ensures efficient case completion, especially during events.

In conclusion, navigating the labyrinth of Help Wanted cases requires not just gaming prowess but a strategic mindset. As you embark on your Orchid Island journey, may your detective skills and tactical acumen guide you through the twists and turns of this enthralling gaming realm.
