Outshining the Competition Since 1956

ated in 1952 by Harly Squires, a California chemist. After years of experimenting with carnauba flakes, Harly came up with a formula that significantly outperformed every other wax on the market. He named his formula Waxomatic and by 1956 it became so popular that its manufacturing facility could not keep up with demand. Later that year, a local businessman and friend, Bruce Badger, tried Waxomatic on his car. He was so impressed with the high gloss shine that he bought the company and renamed the formula Harly Wax® after its creator. Bruce Badger manufactured Harly Wax® in El Segundo, California, and later moved to a larger facility in Long Beach, California.

Harly Wax® quickly gained a cult following among the hot rod and custom car fraternity. By 1965, it had become the wax of choice at the famous Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and it continues to be used by many of its entrants to this day.

As an example of its excellence, America’s most famous custom car builder, George Barris, used Harly Wax® on many of his amazing Hollywood show cars.

More recently, a London-based detailer used Harly Wax® to prepare some of the cars for Prince William and Kate Middleton's 2011 Royal wedding.
