The Good

  • Three credit bureau scores
  • Daily credit monitoring and alerts
  • Credit information hotline
  • Identity fraud support services
  • 14-day free trial

Three Credit Bureau Scores

Fast3CreditScores includes scores fromall three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) in your monthly report. Understanding the information provided bythese three credit bureaus can help you better understand and monitor your credit so you can take immediate action if any errors or issues are found.

Daily Credit Monitoring and Alerts

Fortunately, Fast3CreditScores monitors your credit reports daily and will send you an alert if any potential problems are found, including certain new inquiries, derogatory information, andchanges of address that have been added to your credit report.

Credit Information Hotline

The Fast3CreditScores website states that the company offers a credit information hotline. However, it doesn't have any information explaining what this entails. Therefore, you will need to contact the company for more information about how this feature will benefit you.

Identity Fraud Support Services

It's great to see that Fast3CreditScores offers identity fraud support services to you should you become the victim of identity theft. However, the company doesn't specify whether or not that service includes any type of identity theft protection. Since that information isn't disclosed, the company probably doesn't offer it; however, that's something you may want toverify before making any decisions.

14-Day Free Trial

The good news is that Fast3CreditScores offers a 14-day free trial for its services before they bill you anything. This will help you get a feel for whether or not its services are right for you and your particular situation.

The Bad

  • Website extremely lacking in helpful information
  • FICO scores not provided
  • Credit card required
  • Identity fraud support services not clear

Website Extremely Lacking in Helpful Information

Fast3CreditScores'website is one of the worst we've seen as far as providing helpful information about what the company has to offer. Most people want a little more information before deciding whether or not they feel comfortable disclosing their information.

FICO Scores Not Provided

Fast3CreditScores doesn't provide its members with their actual FICO scores. Instead, the company uses the CreditXpert model to determine your relative credit risk level. The company also goes on to say that these numbers might not match your actual bureau scores and are not the scores that are consideredby most lenders. This is unfortunate because most people want to be seeing the same scores that potential lenders will be looking at.

Credit Card Required

Unfortunately, if you want to receive your three "free" credit scores from Fast3CreditScores, you will have to sign up and put down your credit card information first. The company website states that you will receive a 14-day free trial and can check your scores for free during this time. However, after the trial period, customers who do not cancel their membership will be required to pay $19.99 per month for services.

Identity Fraud Support Services Not Clear

Fast3CreditScores does offer identity fraud support services. However, it's not clear whether or not it offers any type identity theft protection services with its membership. Therefore, you will have to contact the company for more information regarding this matter.

The Bottom Line

Fast3CreditScores appears to be a reputable credit monitoring service. The company providesyou with three credit bureau scores, daily credit monitoring and alerts, a credit information hotline, identity fraud support services, and a 14-day free trial. However, the company's website is almost completely void of any information that would help its potential customers to decide whether or not they even want to give the company a try. Additionally, instead of providing its customers with their actual FICO scores, Fast3CreditScores uses CreditXpert, Inc. to make an assessment of credit risk. And, the company requires you to put down your credit card before you can check and receive your three "free" credit reports and participate in the trial. Further, the company will bill you if you don't cancel within the 14-day trial period. Fast3CreditScores is part of a larger parent company, Trilegiant, whichhas been around for quite some time. Therefore, we don't have a problem recommending this company. However, we also advisethat you perform your own due diligence before deciding whether or not this is the right credit monitoring company for you and your particular situation.
