About Superbloom

What is Superbloom?

Next Summer the Tower of London will mark the Queen's platinum jubilee by transforming the Tower's moat into a flower meadow which evolves through the summer in a bid to create a biodiverse wildlife haven in the middle of the city.

Yes! To enter the moat and experience the new landscape up close, you will need either a Superbloom-only ticket or a combined Superbloom + Tower of London ticket.

Can I visit the Tower of London at the same time as Superbloom?

Yes! To enjoy the whole experience of Superbloom in the moat and explore the iconic Tower of London, you will need the Superbloom +Tower of London ticket option.

Information for customers with tickets booked from 1 to 18 September 2022

The best laid plans?

The prolonged hot, dry weather this summer has taken its toll on some of the flowers in the moat. As a result, some of them flowered quicker, and over a shorter period, than would usually have been the case, so the blooms have entered their seed-head phase earlier than expected.

On 15 August, we emailed all customers who have booked tickets until 18 September when Superbloom closes, to let them know that many of the blooms had entered their seed-head phase and as a result, that entry to Superbloom will be free of charge from 1-18 September. As a result, customers are able to login and cancel their booked tickets.

Cancelling and refunding your tickets

If you have booked and paid for either Superbloom-only tickets or combined Tower of London + Superbloom ticket from 1-18 September, please log-in to cancel your tickets and get a refund as soon as possible.

If you booked a Tower of London + Superbloom ticket, please cancel your combined tickets and rebook your Tower of London-only ticket on the Historic Royal Palaces ticket site: tickets.hrp.org.uk

Please note that we cannot facilitate a partial refund on combined tickets, so it is necessary to cancel your combined Tower + Superbloom ticket and then rebook a Tower of London-only ticket. There are plenty of Tower of London tickets available. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

Can I still visit and what can I see in September?

There are still things to see and experience in the moat, which offers a unique perspective on the Tower: some of the blooms, including Tickseed and Cosmos continue to thrive and the slide into the experience has proved popular. However, since the peak of the bloom has now passed, we have emailed everyone who had booked a ticket, explaining the situation and offering them a refund if they would prefer not to visit.

The Slide

As part of Superbloom, a fun wavy slide has been installed so visitors can slide into the moat.

Who can use the slide?

All visitors with Superbloom tickets or combined Superbloom + Tower of London tickets can enjoy sliding into the moat from Tower Hill if they want to, however this is subject to the weather and demand. A hessian sack will be provided to slide on.
•Please be advised that the slide has a wavy, uneven surface and may cause jolting, visitors who are pregnant or have back, neck or joint issues are advised not to use the slide.

What are the rules for the slide?

•Only one slide per person
•Riders must use the sack provided and sit facing forwards with feet first
•Single riders only, one person per sack
•No large bags to be taken on the slide
•All children remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult and slide usage is at adult discretion
•The slide availability is subject to weather conditions and demand
