For your literature review conclusion, you will need to summarise and present your key findings. It is a good idea to refer to the purpose of your literature review here, detailing specifically what you have been able to achieve.

The paragraph or paragraphs concluding the literary analysis should explain its thesis and show how the concepts presented in the body argue for the accuracy of the ideas presented in the analysis. The conclusion is a summary of your main points and where you bring home their significance.

In a PhD thesis, the literature review typically comprises one chapter (perhaps 8-10,000 words), for a Masters dissertation it may be around 2-3,000 words, and for an undergraduate dissertation it may be no more than 2,000 words.

What does it mean when you cannot find any literature that is relevant to your research? Well, there could be three reasons for this. The topic is just not very interesting. The topic is too narrow and highly specific, and investigating it is not that important.

The conclusion allows you to have the final say on the issues you have raised in your paper, to synthesize your thoughts, to demonstrate the importance of your ideas, and to propel your reader to a new view of the subject. It is also your opportunity to make a good final impression and to end on a positive note.
