Online License Renewal Requirements

You cannot renew your Florida driver's license online if: You last renewed your license online, by mail or over the phone. You are not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. You are renewing a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

If you are renewing your license after the expiration date and your status still indicates Clear/Active or Clear/Inactive, you will be assessed a delinquency fee. The delinquency fee will be in addition to your renewal fees.

A driver's license in Florida must be renewed every eight years, but a different renewal period applies to drivers once they reach age 80. Older drivers, ages 80 and older, must renew their license every six years and pass a vision test.

Twelve consecutive months of utility bills and proof of payments. Declaration of Domicile. Proof of purchase of a permanent home in Florida for which there is a Homestead exemption. Proof of permanent full-time employment in Florida for at least 12 months.

Original Birth Certificate, Social Security Card & TWO proofs of residential address. The names MUST match exactly. Commercial Drivers License Operators are required to present a Social Security Card for issuance of a Florida CDL. Vision test, with or without corrective lenses to meet acuity of 20/40.
