I adored Jadie in Five Dimensions. Is a sequel planned?

Dianne K. SalerniHi, Melissa! Thank you! I am so happy to hear you enjoyed JADIE. It makes my day! When I wrote this book, I had in mind that a sequel could be possible. But the reality is that JADIE needs to be successful enough for the publisher to invest in a sequel, and JADIE, like many pandemic books, kind of fell into a black hole. I thought it might be popular among teachers because it lends itself to lesson plans across several subjects, but I'm not sure it ever got noticed. One never knows, though, and if interest picked up, I would certainly explore the idea of a sequel!

Are there any eighth day book signings available?

Dianne K. SalerniI only have a scheduled signing event in Collingswood, NJ in October. I will probably be invited to more events next year, after my next book The Carrefour Curse comes out, but they will probably be mostly local events. Publishers don't really pay for authors to travel unless they are really famous.

What’s going to happen to Riley with his plan to stop aging 7 times faster than Evangeline? I loved the series so much and I loved everything about it. These books are by far the best books I have ever read and it make me me so sad to find out the series was cut short. I wish there was something we could do about it since many other readers in the future are going to find this series and feel the same way that I do.

Dianne K. SalerniI think we can assume that Riley will continue to live on Evangeline's schedule unless he is needed for something on the other days of the week. I was sad to have the series cut short, but that is part of being an author. Sometimes we get told "No."

Will there be anymore books in the Eighth Day series in 2022? The ending seems unfinished and leaves me wanting more. What will happen to Leslie? Riley? Jax? It seems like an unfinished series which seems like there could be more. I'm a huge fan and I couldn't take my eyes off the book! I loved everything about the book and I NEED to know what will happen.

Unfortunately, the publisher cancelled the series after Book 3 in 2016. It was my intention to rescue Lesley -- or better yet, have her rescue herself . But I never had the opportunity to plan any other books in that series.

Hi Dianne I am a Mega "The Eight day" fan.I know its like 5 years later but please please please continue this book series all your fans are still dying for another book so please, please, please, PLEASSSSEEE keep writing The Eight day . Will you please PLEASE write another book???

Unfortunately, it's not the author who makes the decision about how many books are in a series. The publisher decides. I was sad when they ended the series after 3 books, but in the years since then, I have moved on to other projects. I had a ghost mystery published last year (Eleanor, Alice, & the Roosevelt Ghosts), and there's a science fiction adventure coming in just 7 weeks (Jadie in Five Dimensions)! And I just got word that another mystery I wrote (The Carrefour Curse) is going to be published in 2023.

I have a school project in wich there are questions on the book we read in teams. I was very glad our team chose The Eighth Day as the book to read.In one of the questions, I have to write a little biography of the author of the book. In this case, you. And I wondered if you were an author or a teacher in first place? Also, the book is so good it is a pleasure to do so.

Will their be a continuation to The Eighth Day series?

Dianne K. SalerniNo, unfortunately the publisher decided the series should end with the third book. I have since moved on to other stories. I had a ghost story come out last fall, and I have a science fiction adventure coming out this September.

Dianne K. SalerniI did not have very much of the books planned. I DID plan to save Lesley from the Morrigan, and there may have been a trip to the past planned where Jax and Evangeline met the real King Arthur and Merlin. However, it never got past the beginning of an outline before I got word the series was canceled.

Would you make another book in the eight day series?

Dianne K. SalerniIt does not appear that there will be another book in this series. The publisher decided to end the series with book 3, and I don't see any chance of that decision changing.
