What is MasterSeal NP 1 used for? ›

Used as an acoustic sealant, MasterSeal NP 1 reduces sound transmission in partition systems to support high STC values by sealing spaces around cut-outs and at perimeters of partitions. Recommended uses: Interior and exterior. Above and below grade.

Ideally, if the humidity level is about 50% and the temperature is 75 °F (24 °C), a total cure will take approximately a full week. For immersion with metal structures submerged in water, the curing time will take around 21 days.

StorAGe Store in original, unopened containers away from heat and direct sunlight. Storing at elevated temperatures will reduce the shelf life. SHeLf Life cartridges and ProPaks: 1 year when properly stored.

Excellent waterproofing

NP1 isn't merely water-tight, it can be fully submerged in water without losing its grip or seal. While not recommended for applications that will remain permanently submerged, it can resist even the most powerful sources of water.

As long as the surface to which you are applying the Np-1 is completely dry, you can apply this product. If you think it will rain within 1 or 2 hours after application... wait. Remember, this is a xylene-based product and you can use some xylene on your finger or a rag slightly wet with xylene to "tool" this product.
