Animal Crossing: New Horizons continues to capture the hearts of many players out there who enjoy living their life on their virtual island, even though the game came out a while ago. This is partly because the game is meant to be experienced daily until either the player is bored or they run out of things to do.

But with the recent addition of the Happy Home Paradise DLC, players have been given a whole new reason to come back to the game. With plenty of homes to renovate and lots of new content added, it's worth looking at a few tips for conquering Animal Crossing: New Horizons' biggest expansion.
8 Look For Recipes
Going to the archipelago every day brings a new array of villagers to make houses for, but that's not the only thing that changes every day. Keep an eye out on the shoreline for any bottles that have washed ashore. Just like any other island, these bottles have DIY recipes in them. Most of the recipes will involve material that players can collect on the archipelago.
In addition, once players open up a restaurant on the island, players should talk to the head chef each day. Dressed in red, the villager will gift a player a different cooking recipe that they may or may not have. This is a nice way to speed up filling out the cookbook.
7 Always Take Furniture Suggestions
When building a home for a villager, they will likely provide a few pieces of furniture that are absolutely mandatory to meet their expectations. From there, players will generally have free range to do whatever they would like to do with that house. However, that doesn't mean the game will leave the player hanging either.
When working on a home, the first tab along the furniture menu is a checklist that will include not just mandatory furniture, but other compliment pieces that could go along with what the villager is asking for. These furniture suggestions can be really useful, especially if the player is attempting to stick with the theme that was provided.
6 Convert Poki To Bells
One of the unique elements of Happy Home Paradise is that the archipelago does not use Bells as currency. Instead, they use Poki, which is worth a little more than Bells but can only be used to purchase items locally. Early on, players will earn Poki by completing renovations. Then, they can use it to purchase items in the Paradise Planning office and at other facilities.
However, the things that Poki can be used on are rather limited and Bells are more worthwhile for those that need to purchase things outside the expansion pack. Luckily, there will be an ABD put in place at the Paradise Planning office that will allow players to convert Poki to Bells and vice versa. Take advantage of this, even if it's limited to 30,000 Bells a day.
5 Use The Facilities
As fun as it is to build villager homes, there isn't much use for them outside them being a showcase of the player's decorating skills. However, the facilities are a different story. After spending time getting these buildings up and running, players will be able to use these facilities for their intended purpose.

As mentioned earlier, the restaurant allows players to add recipes to their cookbook. In the café, players can pick from a variety of dishes that they can purchase and consume. The school sometimes gives items out and teaches new decoration techniques. The apparel shop sells clothes and the hospital can give players healing remedies.
4 Check For Joan Occasionally
Those who have played the original Animal Crossing games know of Joan, the well-traveled turnip saleswoman before her granddaughter Daisy Mae took over in this installment. Joan was originally absent from the game prior to the 2.0 update that allowed players to bring her into Brewster's café using an amiibo card.
However, she also is part of the Happy Home Paradise content. After building the hospital, players can visit the lobby on Mondays to see her walking around. Talking to her will give the player some insight as to what she is doing now. In addition, players will get a handful of white turnips from her for free, which can be sold at Nook's Cranny until the end of the week.

And while players can take suggestions that are given to them, they are not restricted to decorating the house a specific way. At the end of the day, Lottie wants the players to showcase their own vision.
In most cases, players will be asked to follow a theme with some furniture pieces being essential for that villager. However, players will get the option at some point to just say that they have their own idea of how to approach tackling a house. This allows players to have no requirements that they have to meet and just decorate to their heart's content.

While the house itself is always the central point of decorating, it's also nice to put the house in a perfect setting depending on what vibes the player is looking for. Luckily, Happy Home Paradise offers many biomes and landscapes to choose from when deciding where to place a villager.
When a villager moves into that lot, players will see an icon for that villager over that plot of land. Players may think that this means the plot is taken, but that isn't true. These plots can be reused as many times as the player likes and will not interfere with any build already made in that location. Reusing these plots gives the player the freedom to pick the best spot.
1 Continue After The Finale
After building 30 different homes and finishing all the facilities, the player will be treated to a nice finale sequence that celebrates all their hard work. But while it is a joyous occasion, it's not necessarily the end of Happy Home Paradise.
In fact, there are more things to do and learn with each home built. This includes continuing to learn from Wardell in terms of sounds and having guest speakers at the school to teach new concepts. This also includes expansions to both the restaurant and the cafe. Plus, players can keep building houses until they moved in every single villager.
