Status after a bit more than 24 hours. Most who shared their e-mail or sent me a direct message have received the guide now.Feel free to do the same to receive it faster. We may also just share a link where it can be downloaded. It will take a while to get it sent to everyone who has shown interest manually, unfortunately.Best regards,Anders

Anders Liu-Lindberg your thoughts and if you are interested let’s catch up.Shareholders have two objectives Share Price Increase and Dividends. They essentially outsource those 2 outcomes to an organisation on Return on Investment. Two points,I do not see it in your top ten and wondering why not ?Secondly, Does that lens view on what shareholders want have any impact in your thinking ?

Four budgeting methods.Which one would you choose?1. Traditional budgeting2. Zero-based budgeting3. Rolling budgets/forecasts4. Beyond budgetingLet's look at the pros and cons of each of them...TRADITIONAL BUDGETINGPro’sSimplicity: Easy to implement and understand.Historical data: Relies on past budgets as a starting point.Stable: Provides stability in budget planning.Con’sRigidity: May not adapt well to changes in the business environment.Potential for inefficiency: Can perpetuate wasteful spending. Not strategic: This may not encourage innovation or cost reduction.ZERO-BASED BUDGETINGPro’sCost-consciousness: Forces a thorough review of all expenses.Aligns with goals: Encourages a focus on strategic objectives.Flexibility: Can adapt to changing business conditions.Con’sResource-intensive: Requires detailed analysis of all expenses.Time-consuming: Can be labor-intensive to implement.Potential for shortsightedness: May cut essential long-term investments.ROLLING BUDGETS/FORECASTSPro’sContinual planning: Provides ongoing planning and forecasting.Flexibility: Adapts to changing circ*mstances more readily.Alignment with strategy: Can better support strategic goals.Con’sResource-intensive: Requires continuous monitoring and adjustment.Complexity: This may be challenging to maintain, especially for smaller organizations.Potential for overemphasis on short-term results.BEYOND BUDGETINGPro’sAgility: Promotes a more adaptive and responsive approach to financial planning.Empowerment: Encourages decentralization and employee empowerment.Focus on value creation: Shifts the emphasis from budgets to value-added activities.Con’sCultural shift: Requires a significant cultural change in the organization.Lack of control: May be challenging for some organizations to relinquish traditional control.Measurement challenges: Traditional performance metrics may not align with this approach.Which of these four methods is your favorite?Any other methods that you would like to add?----------🧑💼 I'm a partner at Business Partnering Institute🆘 Need immediate help in your finance team, call us!🤝 We help increase the influence of your finance team🔔 To see more of my content, hit the bell on my profile📻 #FinanceMaster podcast: https://bit.ly/3NLSt73📄 Check out all our templates and cheat sheets here: https://lnkd.in/eC_zuCU4

From CFNo to CFGrow.Could it be the new brand of the CFO?Historically, CFOs have been most comfortable dealing with balance sheet optimization and productivity improvements. However, to thrive and prosper all companies need growth. That's why it should also be one of the CFO's top priorities for 2024.How do CFOs drive growth in a company? We can look at this through three lenses...👓 Strategic lens👓 Operational lens👓 Financial lensThrough these lenses, we look at specific growth levers...🧾 Historical levers🌐 External levers🚀 Internal leversCombine them all and you get "The CFO's Growth Matrix"!You can learn more about the matrix 👇.To get started ask yourself these questions:✅ Which growth initiatives are running?✅ What value has been realized so far?✅ Which levers are you not working on?✅ What are your competitors doing?✅ How can you free more resources for growth?✅ What role is the finance team playing?✅ Are people being held accountable?Discuss the answers within Finance and then with the management team.Next, get started on the next stage of your growth journey! How are you driving growth in your company?Do you think it's time for the CFGrow?----------🧑💼 I'm a partner at Business Partnering Institute🆘 Need immediate help in your finance team, call us!🤝 We help increase the influence of your finance team🔔 To see more of my content, hit the bell on my profile📻 #FinanceMaster podcast: https://bit.ly/3NLSt73📄 Check out all our templates and cheat sheets here: https://lnkd.in/eC_zuCU4

Does growth and CFO go together? Many would say no. CFOs have historically focused on optimizing profitability rather than growing the company. Some would even argue that CFOs have been detrimental to growth in many companies. They have been labeled “CFNo” focusing more on risk mitigation and cost-cutting rather than building the business.CFOs may feel most comfortable in driving the remaining levers, however, why limit your remit in terms of driving value creation? This week we discuss tangible ways CFOs can contribute to the levers that drive growth. You can be a part of the show too! Just raise your hand to come on stage to share your perspectives or ask questions. Will we see you there?#growth #finance #cfo #business #financemaster

It’s because most levers for value creation are related to growth. These are size of revenue, R&D investment, industry trend, geography trend, M&A program, capital expenditure, and differentiation improvement. CFOs may feel most comfortable in driving the remaining levers (debt capacity, resource re-allocation, and productivity improvement), however, why limit your remit in terms of driving value creation? This week we discuss tangible ways CFOs can contribute to the levers that drive growth.#finance #cfo #accountingandaccountants #growth #financemaster

Think a few years back. Interest rates are near zero or even negative.Cash is free and companies have taken on significantly more debt in the decade following the financial crisis.CFOs didn’t have a worry in the world as resources were abundant and investments could easily be funded. It wasn’t exactly like this, but you get the picture.Today it’s different. Interest rates have risen fast, capital markets have tightened, and resources aren’t as easily available. Now it’s time for CFOs to spring into action.Their mountain of debt needs to be reduced and cost levels, having increased significantly during the past two years, need to be brought under control. We discuss how to do this in the next episode of the #FinanceMaster Show. You can be a part of this too! Just raise your hand to come on stage to share your perspectives or ask questions. Will we see you there?#cfo #debt #finance #accountingandaccountants

Ad: "The future belongs to data-driven organizations" and today it became a reality...The quote is from the Chief Marketing and Solutions Officer at SAP, Julia White, and was said today at SAP Data Unleashed 2024.The technology capabilities available to business and finance teams today are truly amazing!I have shared what I learned at today's event 👇.Learn more about it here: https://bit.ly/3V21b5eHere are my five key takeaways for FP&A professionals:1️⃣ SAP Datasphere + SAP Analytics Cloud enables true XP&AAll departments are on the same platform sharing data. This enables a free-flowing value chain and true collaboration.2️⃣ The bar for generating insights just got raised significantly! The analytical capabilities of this tech stack are insane. This was mindblowing compared to the mundane Excel-driven analysis that most FP&A professionals suffer through today!3️⃣ Joule copilot will save you countless analysis hoursJoule is SAP's copilot and does what a copilot should but built on top of an unparalleled tech stack it becomes powerful beyond imagination.4️⃣ No code scenario modeling is now available for everyoneThis had me the most excited!I've been talking about this for a while.Conduct scenario modeling around your key assumptions on the spot. Now you can make truly data-driven decisions even at the strategic level!5️⃣ Spot trends and patterns like never before with knowledge graphThe capabilities unleashed with SAP Datasphere Knowledge Graph are downright scary.Imagine seeing the relationships between every single data point across your organization. It's hard to believe just how insightful that will be and I cannot wait (on behalf of companies out there) for the feature to be released!----------You do need a data-literate organization to make this work.Likewise, implementation isn't always straightforward, however, we heard from Bosch and HUGO BOSS how they had tackled some of these challenges. And if they can do it, so can you!How is your company building a data-literate organization?----------🧑💼 I'm a partner at Business Partnering Institute🆘 Need immediate help in your finance team, call us!🤝 We help increase the influence of your finance team🔔 To see more of my content, hit the bell on my profile📻 #FinanceMaster podcast: https://bit.ly/3NLSt73📄 Check out all our templates and cheat sheets here: https://lnkd.in/eC_zuCU4

What's most important, time or energy management 🤷♂️Finance and accounting professionals are busy peopleThat's not a good thing. There's hardly time for adding value. It feels like constantly treading the hamster wheel. We hear this often from companies we work withWe help them understand their time spent. We equip them with tools to free time for important work. They can usually free as much as one day per week, isn't that great?Yes, but time is ultimately a limited resource, your energy is not!Focus on effectiveness, not just efficiency. You need to manage your energy all day - every day. It's time to unleash The Power of Full Engagement into your life.To become fully engaged be on top of your energy sources...Engagement = Physical + Emotional + Mental + Spiritual EnergyThis concept has changed my life and it can change yours too 🫵.PS.
